Class Cancellation & Refund Information *All withdrawals or credits will be charged a $5 fee per participant. *NO refunds/transfers/credits will be allowed within the 10 day window of program start dates. *Withdrawing or Transfering classes online is available until the 10 day window. There are no waitlists. When a customer withdrawals from a class, that opening will be available online for immediate registration, so check back often for new openings! *Please call the main office at (480)503-6200 during business hours with any questions. AquaƟc Centers Gilbert Pool Rules & Regulations

*Children 6 years old and under must be accompanied by an adult or responsible person (12+) *Swim suits only: No cut-off shorts, cotton shorts, or T-shirts are permitted. *All persons entering the aquatic facility must pay the entry fee-including infants (1+ yrs) and observers during public swimming sessions. *No flotation devices, except as follows: “Water wings” are permitted in the pool zero depth areas only but NOT in the main pool areas. *Life jackets and water “noodles” are permitted at all facilities. *Children who are not toliet trained must wear a disposable swim diaper at all times. *We ask that all guests use the restroom and shower before entering and enjoying the pool. *Guests who are sick or ill (diarrhea, incontinent, vomiting) are asked to visit after they have recovered from their illness. *Aquatic facilities are smoke-free, including E-cigarettes. *Fecal incidents require the pool to be cleared for a minimum of 30 minutes in order to remove and treat the incident appropriately. *No alcohol or glass containers are allowed. *There are additional rules and regulations posted at each aquatic center. Please review these regulations when you visit any of our Town pools. *Pool managers and lifeguards have complete authority in the pool. Lifeguards are on duty to enforce pool rules and regulations, provide a safe environment and respond to aquatic emergencies. It is the parent/guardian’s sole responsibilty to watch their childrent at all times.

Pool and Ramada Rentals Private pool rentals and ramada rentals (during Mesquite Aquatic Center public swimming sessions) will be accepted at the Mesquite Aquatic Center. Reservations will be accepted beginning May 1, 2018. Ramada rental fee is $30/hr and is a great way to have a private area at the pool for a birthday party during public swimming hours. Private pool rentals can be scheduled on Saturdays after public swimming hours end at 4pm, beginning 5/26/2018. Call 480-503-6200 for availability and questions. Mesquite pool closes for the season on Saturday, July 28th. Evening pool rentals will be available on the dates/times below: August 6-11 - Monday-Friday times 6:30-8:30pm, Saturday - All day available August 13-18 - Monday-Friday times 6:30-8:30pm, Saturday - All day available Cost varies by size of group. An average 2 hour rental at Mesquite Aquatic Center for up to 150 people is $400 (lifeguard fee) plus a $50 booking fee.

Swim Lesson InformaƟon

Swim Levels LEVEL 2: PRIMARY SKILLS Έ5YRS AND UPΉ

PARENTͳTOT: Έ6 MO ͳ 3 YRSΉ (1:12 Ra o) This class is water acclima on, not swimming lessons. Designed for children to begin the process of learning basic water skills to help them become comfortable and relaxed in a swimming pool environment. The child must be accompanied by a parent/guardinan (12+ years)

TADPOLES: Έ30 MO ͳ 4 YRSΉ (1:3 Ra o) This class is geared towards toddlers who are gaining comfort in the water and working on basic swim skills. The goal of this class is to work on the process of swimming without the parent and introduce new skills. Previous par cipa on in parent-tot class is highly recommended.

SHRIMPS Έ3 YRS ͳ 5 YRSΉ (1:5 Ra o) Designed for a first me swimmer who is gaining comfort and confidence in the water. This class will focus on the fundamentals: blowing bubbles, front and back float, head submersion, bobbing, front/back arm movements and supported front/back kick.

OTTERS Έ3 YRS ͳ 5 YRSΉ (1:5 Ra o) Intended for children who have mastered front and back floa ng. The class will focus on the coordina on of arm and leg movements on front/back, underwater swimming, kicking without support on front/back and turning over front to back/back to front.

LEVEL 1: WATER EXPLORATION Έ5YRS AND UPΉ (1:5 Ra o) The students will be familiarized with the aqua c environment. This is a first me exposure to the pool, lessons, and an instructor. Skills learned in this level will include face submersion, breath control (bubble blowing), supported floa ng on front and back, kicking and beginning arm ac on.

(1:7 Ra o) At this level, the students will fully submerge head and retrieve objects, go into deep water with support, and retrieve objects, go into deep water with support, float on front and back for five seconds, demonstrate rhythmic breathing, front and back crawl, and kicking on front and back. No prerequisite for Level 2.

LEVEL 3: STROKE READINESS Έ5YRS AND UPΉ (1:7 Ra o) The focus of this class is coordina on of the font and back crawl for 15 yards with good breathing, beginning to tread water and the elementary backstroke. In addi on, safe diving prac ces from the side of the pool and underwater swimming are elements of this level. Prerequisite: comple on of level 2.

LEVEL 4: STROKE DEVELOPMENT Έ6YRS AND UPΉ (1:8 Ra o) This is the course where students really begin to look like “swimmers.” Building on the skills already acquired, students will be able to swim at least 25 yards of front and back crawl easily, increase endurance, master rotary breathing, and learn the basics of breaststroke, scissor kick, and turning at the wall. Prerequisite: comple on of level 3

LEVEL 5: STROKE REFINEMENT Έ6YRS AND UPΉ (1:8 Ra o) The purpose of this course is to coordinate and refine the main strokes learned, build endurance, and to introduce the bu erfly. Students must be able to swim at least 50 yards front and back crawl. This class will con nue to teach breaststroke, sidestroke, and flip turns.

Diving Classes BEGIN NING DIVING Έ5YRS AND UPΉ

(1:6 ra o) Diving par cipants must have passed Level 2 swim lessons. This class teaches board work, front and back approaches, dives and will prepare par cipants for more advanced skills and the basics of compe tve diving. INTERMEDIATE DIVING Έ6 YRS AND UPΉ (1:8 Ra o) This class is for more advanced divers and will teach par cipants more advanced skills such as flips, back dives, and twists.

Aqua cs Paddleboard Yoga!

Aqua cs Paddleboard Yoga is a new class offered by Gilbert Parks and Recrea on this year at Greenfield Pool. This class will u lize paddleboards/floa ng yoga mats and will be a GREAT ac vity to exercise, stay relaxed, and prac ce the yoga discipline with a cer fied yoga instructor. Class runs 7:30 pm-8:20 pm Thursdays or 8:30am-9:20am Saturdays for seven weeks and includes paddleboards. Class par cipants should wear comfortable a re that can get wet if necessary. LIFEGUARD TRAINING American Red Cross Lifeguard Training provides the knowledge and skills to prevent, recognize and respond to aqua c emergencies and provide care for breathing and cardiac emergencies, injuries and sudden illnesses un l EMS personnel take over. WATER SAFETY INSTRUCTOR (WSI) Water Safety Instructor— This course will help you teach skills that may save a life, and gain terrific work experience as an aqua c professional. In addi on you will teach children how to swim, refine their strokes or teach diving safety techniques. Pre-requisites include: Minimum age 16 years old, demonstrate proficiency in six strokes: front crawl, back crawl, elementary backstroke, sidestroke, breaststroke, and bu erfly, and tread water for 1 minute. Junior Lifeguard This program is designed for youth 12-16 years of age who would like to work as a Lifeguard, but are too young to take the required classes from the American Red Cross. The experience gained in this class will encourage a youngster to con nue with their educa on and training to become a Cer fied Lifeguard through the American Red Cross Lifeguard Training Course. Training will include rule enforcement, CPR demonstra ons, First-Aid training, and various rescue scenarios. A endance at all classes is not mandatory but encouraged. Greenfield Summer Swim & Dive Team The Swim/Dive Team Program is non-compe ve in nature and is designed to introduce a child to the fun of compe environment. Open to youth ages 5-17. Requirements for enrolling in Swim & Dive Team: *Swim Team: Swim one length of the pool (25 yards) unassisted in 60 seconds *Dive Team: Jump off the diving board and swim to side unassisted.

Junior Lifeguard This program is designed for youth 12-16 years of age who would like to work as a Lifeguard, but are too young to take the required classes from the American Red Cross. Training will include rule enforcement, CPR demonstra ons, First-Aid training, and various rescue scenarios. A endance at all classes is not mandatory but encouraged. Mesquite Summer Swim Team Summer Swim Team program begin on Monday May 14th at the Mesquite Aqua c Center, Greenfield, Williams Field, and Perry pools. The Swim Team Program is non-compe ve in nature and is designed to introduce a child to the fun of compe ve swimming in a team environment. Open to youth ages 5-17. Requirements for enrolling in Swim Team: *Swim Team: Swim one length of the pool (25 yards) unassisted in 60 seconds Swim Team starts on 5/14 - 5/17 (*previously preseason week - note special mes below) 5-6 yrs 4:30-5:00pm 7-8 yrs 5:00-5:40pm 9-10 yrs 5:40-6:30pm 11-17 yrs 6:30-7:30pm The swim team will take a week off and then con nues on 5/29 and will run through prelims 7/12 & 7/13 and championships 7/17. Prac ces run Mon-Thurs, with meets on Thursday evenings. *No prac ces on Memorial Day 5/28 or Independence Day 7/4. The whole summer of swim for only $110!
