STAGE 1 (SWS or NREM) Brain waves: Alpha, Theta Stage one is known as the lightest stage of sleep, the body starts slowing down and it’s easy to drift in and out of the actual sleep, it’s also the easiest to come out of when awakened. This stage lasts only a few minuets before moving on to stage two.

STAGE 2 (SWS or NREM) Brain waves: Theta, Spindles, K-Complexes In stage two peaks of brain waves become higher and higher (sleep spindles), then k-complexes (peaks suddenly drastically descend and then pick back up) follow spindles. Again this stage lasts only a few minuets before moving on to stage three.

STAGE 3 (SWS or NREM) Brain waves: Delta, Theta Also called the delta sleep or deep sleep. Both slow brain waves (delta waves) and faster, smaller ones (theta waves) appear during this stage.

STAGE 4 (SWS or NREM) Brain waves: Delta, Theta Also called the delta sleep or deep sleep. Mostly made up of slow brain waves (delta waves), the entire body is deeply relaxed. This is the hardest stage from which to wake.

STAGE 5 (REM) Brain waves: Beta REM Sleep is known for irregular and rapid breathing, consistent eye movement and temporary paralysis of muscles. There is an increase in blood pressure and heart rate. The most vivid dreaming occurs during this stage.

To dream of a symbol such as a door closed or locked, signifies opportunities that are denied and not available to you or that you have missed out on. Something or someone is blocking your progress.

Tonight I’ll show you how dreams are prepared.

People think its a very simple and easy process, but it’s a bit more complicated than that. As you can see, a very delicate combination of complex ingredients is the key. First we add a little bit of reminiscences of the day… mixed with some memories from the past (that’s for 2 people). Love, friendships, relationships… and all other ships :together with: songs you heard during the day... things you saw...

It is hung above their beds to sift through their dreams.

He is said to sprinkle sand or dust on or into the eyes of the child at night to bring on dreams and sleep. The grit or ‘sleep’ (rheum) in one’s eyes upon waking is supposed to be the result of the Sandman’s work the previous evening.
