a message from the board chair and ceo
Founder
Dear Friends and Supporters of Girl Scouting:
Juliette Gordon Low Founded March 12, 1912
“You can be anyone you want to be,” was the message at our council’s first Believe in Girls (B.I.G.) event in September, and a core belief that resonates in everything we do in Girl Scouting. Our belief in girls and the volunteers who lead and guide them is a driving force for the council, and directs us as we strive to provide the premier leadership development program for girls in southeast Louisiana.
Board Officers
Providing quality programming and services is not without its challenges, but with over 50 collaborative community partners across our 23 parishes, three Girl Scout camps that offer an array of fun and exciting activities, a team of dedicated volunteers, staff, and funders who support us, Girl Scouts Louisiana East continues to forge ahead in our mission of building girls of courage, confidence, and character, who make the world a better place.
Julie LeBlanc Secretary
Please take a moment to review highlights from 2015 in our annual Report to the Community, along with our financial information and the names of those who support us and our mission financially. It is the efforts of many that give us the opportunity to think BIG, and it is the passion and unflagging dedication of our committed adult volunteers that continues to inspire and encourage us each and every day. Please know how much we appreciate your time, energy, and financial support to Girl Scouting.
