4 Dressing Rules for Men

It is often accepted in society that women are more meticulous when it comes to appearance. They have to be precise on how their hair is fixed, match their top and bottom, and which accessory goes with the dress. Men, on the other hand, are quite carefree on how they look as long as they are comfortable. Common notions even circulate across the world that ragged looks are manlier and look tougher. A survey, however, shows that most women prefer dating men who look and dress sharply. This is why many fashion experts advise men to dress appropriately according to the situation.

For most men, though, dressing up right may be a bit challenging. Each person has its own personal preference when it comes to what he wants to wear. This usually depends on the culture and the environment he lived in growing up. Despite having differences in style, there remains a set of general rules to follow – a few guidelines that are applicable to anyone on any situation.

Start to Care First, people should care how they would look. If they would not do it, nobody else will. They must have the initiative to look in the mirror and see if the shirt matches the pants and shoes. Remember, the appearance plays a big role in the first impression of people. Making sure of what they wear is key.

Wear a Size that Fits Part of being aware of how people look is wearing clothes that fit. Most men wear clothes that are too large. Comfort is important, yet too much of it can make them look unattractive. Clothes should be just enough to hug the body, but not too tight because it does not similarly look good as well.

Simpler Looks Better Most clothes look good on their own, while others appear better with others. This is where matching comes in. Experts usually say that simple clothes look better on men. There is no need for fancy matches, unnecessary accessories, or too many combinations. A simple set of clothes will look flashier.

Disregard Brand Names and Prices Do not rely on brand names or prices. Buying and wearing signature clothes would not guarantee people to look better. Sticking to the best quality they can afford still proves to be the better hand. There are few clothes that have good quality and style, yet it does not cost too much of a dime. Wearing a nice set of clothes is more than looking or feeling good. It is about making an impression and introducing one’s self without uttering a single word. Sticking to the standards and playing safe with style is good, but experimenting with a few combinations may work for some. The most essential factor in dressing up is feeling comfortable without being too carefree.
