CIRCA Pintig Year in Review
CIRCA Pintig acknowledges support from its Art Partners in celebration of Arts for Community Healing!
CIRCA Pintig is proud to forge an empowering partnership with private foundations and city/state agencies for its 2022-23 Arts Programming. CP expresses its thanks to Asian Improv aRts Midwest, Asian Giving Circle/Chicago Community Trust, Crossroads Fund, DCASE City Arts, Illinois Arts Council and RESIST for their grant support and partnership.
CIRCA Pintig bounced back from the pandemic mode with an in-person excerpt performance of Lani Montreal's new play, "Panther in the Sky" as part of Art.Heals, a collaborative arts project initiated by Chicago Danztheatre Ensemble in Spring 2022. CP returns to live performances with its 2022-23 Theater Season that begins with a full staging of Montreal's one-act play about mothers and their young sons dealing with gun violence in the Nov-Dec. Following this are a devised theater project on Mental Health in partnership with UIC and a new full-length play on Anti-Asian Hate scheduled for performances in the Spring and Summer of 2023. Together with these performances, CP also engages in conducting community drama workshops for the TEAACH Act program and Dismantling Anti-Asian Hate Campaign. These performances are conducted in collaboration with Chicago Danztheatre Ensemble, Malcolm X College, Asian ImprovArts Midwest, Chicago Nightingales and the Hana Center.
