Noli Me Tange.re, Italy Curated by Raffaella Barbato

Italian curator Raffaella Barbato presents a selection of video-performances focusing on the female identity and "the acquisition of a new female self consciousness’ path". She writes about her program: "It is the first of a series of moments of critical reflection about the problems of being a woman. It’s an artistic query, an ethical and aesthetic path born as an investigation of social anthropological and historical phenomena which had and still have a certain impact in the structuring of women’s issue and in the process of deconstruction of the myth of the man, it is the resulting objectification of the world by the woman. (…..) It is a contemporary reading of the conflict between the female and male’s word, like the process of the subordination of the sexes and the difficulties in communication and acceptance of each other. The language chosen is the performative one. The centre from where all the action and the propulsion came from is the body, which is a casing/bridge that connect the man to the nature and the society and in part it predefines his bio-ideological features. In this kind of world the body is not an individual altar but a relational social space in which you live the experience of existence and resistance. Trait-d’union among the chosen artists (Angela Baretta, Romina De Novellis, Angelika Fojtuch, Regina Josè Galindo, Silvia Giambrone, MaraM, Mary Zygouri) is the idea of art as a lived practice of cultural resistance and protest, art as a sollecitation able to awake conscience and destroy the individual and social blindness through a process of co-operation." 1. Real delicacies, video art from Brazil Curated by Kika Nicolela

Kika Nicolela is a Brazilian artist, filmmaker and independent curator. In her program "Real Delicacies", she is introducing us to 5 contemporary Brazilian artists. She writes about her selection:

"A look on the random, on landscape, on daily life. Small actions, delicate displacements. The poetry in the mundane. The power of delicacy. The vulnerable image. A compilation of Brazilian recent videos. These artists articulate images from reality, and escape definitions of genre – documentary, performance, experimental, fiction? - to weave a personnel poetic drawn from the subject's relation to his or her surroundings, while avoiding technical mannerisms or superfluous effects." 1. 2. 3. 4. 5.
