Camp & Outdoors | Powering Community

In 2020 we took a pause on in-person camp activities due to the pandemic, but in 2021 we returned to camp and ran a successful, safe program. Although a staff shortage prevented us from hosting all of our resident camp sessions, we continued to provide our Girl Scouts with a place of community. This was a big win for us as we managed to keep camp open even during a variant surge in late summer. While our 2020 – 2021 winter programming was on hold, we did not sit idly. We used that time to revamp our outdoor skills series and create a DIY packet for those who could not attend in-person events. This program was able to engage 651 participants.

GCNWI’s outdoor programming featured a variety of fun, challenging, and experiential activities that empowered girls as they develop values, skills, and behaviors essential to effective leadership in the outdoors.
