Whether she is a first grader or going to be a senior in High School, Camp offers a summer full of fun, friends and new ways for your girl to shine! Camping doesn’t have to stop once summer is over, GSNC has ways to keep the fun going all year long. Opportunities are available throughout the year for both Troops and individual girls. So let’s get started! CAMP BLUE BAY SLEEPAWAY is the perfect place for girls to explore their dreams, discover what they love and learn new skills that will last a lifetime! Enjoy water sports, swim in the bay, learn a new campfire song, play games or do a new craft. She will leave behind her dependency on electronic entertainment and find ways to reach out to others under the canvas of a tent or with a group in a Troop House.

SUMMER FUN DAY CAMP is held at Wantagh County Park in Nassau County. Our Day Camp gives your girl a place where she can make lifelong memories, meet new friends, and discover the pleasures of the outdoors while participating in a variety of activities/crafts including swimming daily. TRADITIONAL TROOP CAMPING and Girl Scout Troops make a perfect pairing. Add the scenic beauty of Camp Blue Bay and you have the perfect setting to discover the wonders of nature. With the help of camp trained adults, girls might learn how to cook in a box oven, enjoy a nature walk and work on badges set in the great outdoors. COUNCIL CAMP PROGRAMS are offered throughout the year at Camp Blue Bay for both individual girls and Troops. Designed to ease a girl and volunteer into the camping experience, they are offered to a particular level of Girl Scout based on a theme or badge, with the assistance of experienced volunteers. Looking to discover what Camp Blue Bay has to offer? Then look no more, this session has a little bit of everything for you to experience. Your days will be filled with swimming, boating, cookouts, singing, games, arts & crafts and making new friends.
Down By the Bay -

Spend some extra time at the bay swimming, fishing, building sand castles or playing games. Let’s not forget the creek for boating lessons and a special “floating” lunch. When it’s time to dry off, get ready to enjoy all the other camp activities!
Sleepover Party –
Everyone loves a “PJ” Fashion Show--come along for a week in the Troop House to participate and have some fun. Play some games, do your hair and nails, make some fun snacks and still have time for all the other camp activities.
GRADES 5-7 Fun in the Sun (General Session) –
Want to do it all? You can! This session includes a wonderful selection of activities; swimming, boating, cookouts, arts & crafts, sports and games. Get out and explore the outdoors while making new friends.
Outdoor Gourmet –
Is cooking something you are interested in? Enjoy learning a variety of outdoor cooking techniques – cooking over a fire, in a Dutch oven, and even in a cardboard box. Once done cooking enjoy all that Camp Blue Bay has to offer.
Showtime –
Show and share your talents by participating in a special Camp Blue Bay production. Express yourself through drama, dancing, singing, costumes and props while staying in the Troop House and enjoying all other camp activities.
Slumber Party –
Don’t forget to pack your favorite PJs to move into the Troop House for a week-long camp party! Enjoy the music, have fun dancing, help make some special snacks and enjoy all the other camp activities.

Make a big splash during this action-packed week of water fun! Swimming, boating, snorkeling, fishing, and beach games await you.
Trail Mix -
Come and refine your outdoor skills at camp. Learn to use a compass, cook over a fire, build shelters, and tie knots. Guess what-you also get to enjoy the sounds of nature and sleep under the stars.
Double the Fun -
Perhaps one week of camp is not enough for you? This special TWO WEEK session will allow you to settle in and spend more time at camp. Get together on the first night with all your new friends and
share what you like to do. Working with the staff you will help to design a special two week program for the group. Many, many activities to choose from, swimming, boating, games, arts & crafts, nature activities, sleeping late or under the stars to name a few – be sure to bring along your ideas. As always there will be plenty of time to participate in all other traditional camp activities.
GRADES 8-11 Girls like to have a say in what they do at camp. Our eighth to eleventh grade program will allow them to do just that! No matter if she chooses Girls Just Want
to Have Fun (one week session) or Night Owls (two week session); if she
lives in a tent or a Troop House she will have choices. All sessions will start with a first night planning meeting to design a special program for the group as well as individual choices. Just think, the possibilities are endless: swimming, boating (dependent on swimming ability), night hikes, sleeping late, dancing, sports, arts & crafts, stargazing, sleeping under the stars. Can you think of any other adventures to suggest? And don’t forget there’s plenty of time for the traditional Camp Blue Bay activities – cookouts, campfires, singing, games and all camp programs.
Camp Blue Bay Mini Sessions Perhaps a week at camp is too long or maybe you just want to give it a try! Then our mini sessions are just for you! Board the bus and enjoy four days and three nights of fun and adventure at Camp Blue Bay. Experience all we have to offer: swimming, boating, arts & crafts, games, and campfires are just a few of the many activities available. Choose to enjoy the outdoors by camping in a platform tent or maybe an indoor Troop House is more your style.

Counselor-in-Training (CIT) This two-week Counselor-In-Training for Ambassador Girl Scouts will allow you to complete an outdoor leadership course, while observing and assisting counselors at camp. There will be time for training as well as an opportunity to work directly with younger campers. Participants will live in a tent unit and work together as part of the 2016 CIT Team. To be considered for this program interested girls must complete the application process and have a personal interview. This training is limited to 12 participants.

HOW TO REGISTER FOR SUMMER CAMP Go to gsnc.org/camp. Download a registration form, fill it out and mail to Summer Camp Registration, Girl Scouts of Nassau County, 110 Ring Road West, Garden City, NY 11530
received. If the camp or session you select is not available, you will be contacted. If alternate camp or session is not acceptable, your payment will be refunded. There will be a $25 fee for any check returned to us by the bank.
Send a $50 per session, non-refundable deposit. Make checks payable to: Girl Scouts of Nassau County, Inc. For credit cards, fill in all credit card information on the application. A $30 registration fee is included in the Non-Girl Scout fee. To ensure that your daughter and her friends attend camp together, please send applications in the same envelope. You will receive written registration confirmation, a balance due statement and more camp information. Payments - The 2016 fee balance is due at the Girl Scout Service Center no later than May 1, 2016. Unpaid balances will result in cancellation of your camp registration. Registrations received after May 1, 2016 must be accompanied by full payment. “CookieCredits” can be used to pay for all or a portion of the fee by enclosing your signed “Cookie Credit” Redemption Forms along with a check for any balance. Health Information - Camp
Blue Bay and Summer Fun Campers are required to have a Health Examination Form including physical and immunization dates to be completed by a physician. Parents will need to upload the forms and complete a health history online using Campdoc.com, a secure, password protected site. A personal invitation to join will be sent to you once your camper is registered.
CAMP POLICIES Expectations - A Camper Code of Conduct is included with the registration form. Please review the camp guidelines with your camper before registering, so everyone understands the expectations. Both parent/ guardian and camper signatures are required on this document to register for camp.
Refund Policy - The $50 per session deposit will not be refunded or transferred after camp registration is confirmed. The balance of the fee will be refunded only if the camper does not attend due to illness or injury that is confirmed by physician’s letter.

“A program designed especially for your Troop!” Feel a little nervous about camping? Not sure it’s your “thing,” but, your Troop is excited and the girls would love to camp together in the summer time? Not to worry, we have the solution. Summer Adventures allows your Troop to take advantage of the activities offered at summer camp, including swimming, boating, nature, arts & crafts, campfires and more. We make it easy. Once registered, we will design a program especially for your Troop. Troops only need to have one adult per each 8 girls attending and no training is required. When you arrive a summer staff member will greet you, assist your group in settling in and be with you throughout your stay to guide you through the activities. No need to worry about food; all meals will be served in the Dining Hall. Accommodations are in tents (4 girls per tent) or dormitory style indoors (12 girls to a room) Who:

Council Camp Programs No training required – All meals provided! Experiencing the outdoors can be easy and fun! Thanks to our many dedicated volunteers, our Council camp programs are just that! Individual Girl Opportunities includes transportation from the Girl Scout Service Center to camp and back– we provide the volunteers. Troop Opportunities- you provide the girls and adult coverage – we will do the rest! Parent/Child Overnights are for just you and your daughter(s). Camp Blue Bay always needs loving care! Be part of maintaining and improving our beloved camp while enjoying a weekend in the outdoors. Open to Cadette, Senior or Ambassador Troops with appropriate coverage and Individual Adult Volunteers. No camp training required. Weekend projects to include clearing paths, spreading wood chips and other assorted projects. Come for the day or stay for the weekend. Each group will be required to volunteer for at least one morning or afternoon shift on Saturday to help keep our camp clean and beautiful. The rest of the weekend is yours to enjoy as a Troop. Camp Blue Bay Sock Hop Weekend! June 3-5, 2016 Wouldn’t you love to travel back in time to enjoy a good ‘ol fashion Sock Hop? Pack your 50’s attire and dance the night away at the first ever Camp Blue Bay Sock Hop. Spend the day Saturday enjoying the great outdoors, take a walk to the beach, make a spring decoration and play some games. After dinner it’s time to party! Show us your moves on the dance floor doing the twist, the mashed potato and hand jive to name a few. Enjoy some activities and finish the night with an Ice Cream Soda Camp Blue Bay style. Troops can choose to arrive Friday night or Saturday morning. No training required for adults but we do ask that you limit the number of adults to allow for more girls to attend. Indoor space and tents will be assigned based on the number of people in your group. Troops will be expected to share sites. BACK BY POPULAR DEMAND! Camp Blue Bay Adult Camp Reunion Save the Date August 19-21, 2016 Do you remember what it was like to be a camper or staff member at Camp Blue Bay? Do you want to be a kid again; play, laugh and be silly for a weekend? Here is your chance; the date is set to gather with camp friends old and new. Sleep in a tent, raise the flag, relive the Dining Hall experience, take a swim in the bay (bathing caps always available) and gather round the campfire to sing the songs that you still remember. Join us for the weekend or the day it’s up to you! Registration will open April 15, 2016. This event will not be offered again until August 2018, so be sure to put it on your calendar.
If you and your daughter(s) cherish quality time together, this is the perfect opportunity for you. At the Parent/Child Overnight, you may choose to take part in a variety of planned camp activities, enjoy a local attraction or just relax and enjoy the beautiful natural surroundings of East Hampton. Bring along your lunch for Saturday. Dinner, evening snack and Sunday breakfast will be served in the Dining Hall. The event can accommodate up to 200 people in platform tents. Limited indoor space (dormitory style Troop Houses) available upon request. Who: All registered GSNC girls with a parent/guardian. Cost: $30.00 per person. Registration will open April 15, 2016.

Spend the day Saturday enjoying the great outdoors, take a hike to the beach, make a candle, create a fall decoration and play some games. After dinner it’s time to party! Take part in the costume contest, enjoy some activities, show us your moves on the dance floor and share your treats. Troops can choose to arrive Friday night or Saturday morning. Troop Camping Troop Camping has been part of the Girl Scout Experience since its inception. Camping is fun and a great way to build new skills and develop a deeper appreciation for nature with your friends. Traditional Troop Camping is planned and carried out by a group of girls and their camp trained volunteers/Leaders. Outdoor Training for Adults 14
is provided to help Girl Scout volunteers prepare themselves and the girls to enjoy outdoor experiences together. Training will introduce progression in the out-ofdoors, review camp facilities and provide basic skills for outdoor programs. Under the guidance of trained and enthusiastic adults, girls may take their first hike, build their first campfire and sleep under the stars for the first time. Camp Blue Bay Brick Campaign To honor the 65th Birthday of Camp Blue Bay, Girl Scouts of Nassau County started the Anniversary Brick Campaign. It was such a great success! We made room for more bricks! New bricks will be installed this spring. It’s a great way for all Girl Scouts, past or present, girl or volunteer, to leave their mark on Camp Blue Bay.
