WHY Buffalo Forge Steel THERMAPLUS? 1) Excellent Price/Great Value - Priced at 40% less than other so-called premium steel and wrought iron doors while offering many innovative features in one unique door product line. 2) Field-Trimmable for an exact fit - These doors can be field-trimmed for an exact fit. With the use of common power tools, the edges may be trimmed up to 1/4 inch on both sides and the top edge, and by 1.5 inches on the bottom edge. The doors are available in “full-book” sizing of 36” x 80”, 36” x 96”, and 42” x 96” and are offered pre-finished only, but may also be painted. 3) Thermally Broken to prevent heat and cold transfer from exterior to interior - GlassCraft’s patent-pending design provides a thermal-break around all four door edges and the core to ensure efficient thermal performance. Safety and Security: The GlassCraft Difference is in the details...

Solid, smooth composite frames securely hold glass panels in doors with wrought iron grilles. These plugless frames are patented, and offer a strong and waterproof product, yet allow glass to be replaced if broken.

Wrought iron grilles are hand made, and secured to the door and glass frame with a unique patented system.

Both sides of the door incorporate one-piece solid steel 18 gauge plates that are 3 times thicker than ordinary 24 to 26 gauge door skins.

Multi-point lock options are available in several design options, and provide additional security and peace of mind with 3-deadlocking bolts.

Door jambs constructed with 100% composite material to eliminate rot or termite potential. This pre-hung door unit also includes an adjustable threshold with a composite core.

Unique StrikeJamb™ reinforcement is standard on pre-hung units, and reinforces the lock-side composite jamb leg with an 18 gauge steel reinforcing plate to help prevent kick-ins.

Heavy-Duty, ball-bearing hinges are standard on all pre-hung entryway units. 3 hinges on 6’ 8” tall doors and 4 hinges on 8’ tall doors.

The side and top edges of the door are sealed by using heavy-duty weatherstrip in prehung units. The door sweep at the bottom, and the weatherstrip are replaceable, virtually eliminating drafts and keeping your home more comfortable.

Windstorm Peformance Certain GlassCraft Premium ThermaPlus Steel Composite doors and entryways listed in this catalog have been evaluated for compliance and are approved for installation in designated Windstorm or Catastrophe areas along coastal areas when installed as required and as specified with GlassCraft’s installation guidelines. Both 6’8” tall and 8’0” tall entryways have been certified in a variety of entryway configurations, including single doors and double doors for in-swing applications. These doors have been tested in accordance with the Texas Department of Insurance as a Steel Hinged Door - Non-Impact Resistant. DOOR FRAME AND SILL OPTIONS Composite Door Frames with STRIKEJAMB™ Buffalo Forge Steel THERMAPLUS Doors are available as door-only or as prehung with rot-proof composite door frame with StrikeJamb™. Pre-hung units include brick mold, T-astragal (for double doors), sill cover, door sweep, weatherstripping, and adjustable threshold, plus 3 ball-bearing hinges on 6’-8” tall doors and 4 ball-bearing hinges on 8’-0” tall doors. StrikeJamb™ Pre-hung units include GlassCraft’s exclusive StrikeJamb™ reinforcement, providing extra security around the door frame strike plate area with the addition of a large 18 gauge steel reinforcing plate on single doors, and a steel reinforcing plate added to the astragal for double doors. Pre-hung units may be ordered unfinished or factory finished. Standard pre-hung door units can be ordered with any of our standard double bore or multi-point lock sets and handle set options. Pre-hung entryways include 4-1/2” or 6-1/2” full composite jamb options and composite exterior brick mold. GlassCraft composite jamb system can be stained or painted. The Strike Jamb reinforcement (image shown at right) is installed on the lock side jamb leg for safety and security.

SILL AND SILL COLOR OPTIONS All standard pre-hung exterior door units use adjustable composite sills that help prevent water penetration, rotting, warping, and discoloration. Our standard adjustable composite sill includes a peel-off protection film which protects the sill during the house construction, and is made from 100% composite and aluminum materials. The “adjustable” feature allows the top of the sill to be adjusted with a screwdriver to match the correct height required for the bottom of the door. Optionally, you may select the Endura® Brand adjustable composite threshold or an ADA threshold. The ADA threshold is approved for use with wheelchairs. ADA sills are 5” x 1/2” or 7” x 1/2”. The Endura Z-Series Sill System (for an extra charge) provides a walnut colored sill cap, the adjustable feature, and a hard plastic protective construction cover.

MULTI-POINT LOCK SETS AND BENEFITS

Multi-point Lock Sets for Added SECURITY Increase security and peace of mind with GlassCraft’s multi-point lock option with deadlocking bolts built to work with traditional grip hardware. Choose from any of the multi-point handle set trim options shown on the next 2 pages. This multi-point system is activated with the turning of the dead-bolt lock. All 3 locking points are engaged only when the dead bolt is locked by turning the thumb latch.

Multi-point lock systems use our standard GlassCraft flush bolts installed on the passive door of a pre-hung double door, which gives the homeowner the option to include dummy handle sets on the passive door with all multi-point lock sets.

Door shown above is a 6-8 premium steel with Valencia grille and multi-point lock set.

GlassCraft provides installation of the 3-point lock mechanism into the door, and installation charges are included in the cost of these lock sets. Installation involves machining of the edge of the door slab, which is performed with CNC machines to ensure precision. When ordering for double doors, only 1 multi-point lock set is required. You may choose to include a “dummy” handle set on the inactive door for appearance purposes. Adjustable Strike Plates included with each handle set.

SINGLE-POINT OR MULTI-POINT HANDLE SETS Drop-Forged Solid Brass Handle Set & Lock Options

These lock sets are produced by the traditional drop-forged process utilizing solid brass, heavy gauge construction, a precision engineered mechanism, and superior corrosion protection. All use a standard 5 pin SC1 Keyway. Wide bow keys provided. All of the lock sets shown on these two pages are compatible with our multi-point lock systems shown on page 9. In addition, the Windsor, Savoy, and San Jose are also available as “one-point” traditional lock sets for both 6’8” and 8’0” tall doors. And all lock sets are available as “dummy” lock sets, which are used for double-door installations. These dummy lock sets do not have any internal mechanisms and are mounted on the “inactive” door, with one-point or multi-point lock sets used on the “active” door. The Sapphire and Verano Satin Nickel multi-point and dummy lock sets are also available with a special “PVD”coating on the handle set and stainless steel for the multi-point mechanism for use in coastal installation applications. These are noted as Coastal in the item descriptions. This PVD Physical Vapor Deposition coating is harder, more resistant to corrosion and abrasion, and provides a longerlasting coating when used in coastal areas. All lock sets shown may be used for right-hand or left-hand door swings and all hardware necessary is included. Installation into the door slab is included in the pricing of all of these one-point and multi-point lock sets.

SOLID PANEL BUFFALO FORGE STEEL THERMAPLUS Solid Panel Doors The 2 Panel collection of solid ThermaPlus doors provide an impressive range of options including Speakeasy grilles, Clavos or door nails and decorative Straps.

Hand-forged Iron Speakeasy Grilles, Straps and Clavos Most of our solid panel doors shown in this section may be ordered with our “speakeasy” option installed (see top photo). With this option, a small, operable rectangular door is installed in the upper door panel at a height of approximately 5’-6”. This small doorwithin-a-door is hinged and latched from the interior side of the door. The speakeasies are available with four standard wrought iron grille designs. To complement these speakeasy grilles, clavos or straps may be added on the door. The added speakeasies, clavos and straps will be prefinished to match the door.
