Welcome to Maleny dinner

Now in its 14th year, the annual Welcome to Maleny and District Dinner will be held on Wednesday, September 18 at the Maleny Showgrounds pavilion.

The event is hosted by the Maleny Blackall Range Lions Club and will feature a delicious buffet meal catered by The Orangery Maleny and will include four guest speakers from local community groups, who will speak about the things they do and the support they give to the community.

There will also be a raffle with first prize a photograph of the Maleny area by local landscape photographer Ben Messina, whose gallery and shop are on Maple Street. There will also be a lucky door prize, an auction and an information bag to take home.

Barung Landcare will decorate the tables with small plants, which attendees can take home, and there will be several displays and information provided by local community groups.

Each year up to 200 people attend the dinner with more than half being newcomers to the district. It is a great opportunity to mingle with local people and businesses to learn more about the community you have chosen to call home and meet new friends.
