Easter Sunday

Handbells: Christ the Lord is Risen Today Call to Worship by Praise Team: Allelluia! Pastor’s Welcome and Opening Remarks We Greet One Another Confession & Absolution In Baptism, your old sinful nature was buried with Christ when He died. When God the Father brought Him back to life again, you were given His new life to enjoy. To remind ourselves of what happened at our Baptism, we speak the words that were spoken as God washed us clean. In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen. This Easter Day is the seal and guarantee of your salvation. By the power of Baptism, your old self should be drowned and die each day through contrition and repentance. Let us then confess our sins to our loving and gracious God. You may kneel – silence for reflection

Most merciful God, My daily life does not reflect that this day is most important to me. I sin daily. I forget Your presence in my life. I do not worship You as often and as sincerely as You have commanded. Forgive me and help me to abandon those parts of my life that keep me from You, for the sake of the suffering and death of Your Son, Jesus Christ. Just as surely as the sun rose this morning in the sky, so has the Son of God risen from the dead and announced the forgiveness of sins. As His called and ordained servant, I tell you that your sins are forgiven and you stand holy and blameless before almighty God. Live in the light of His salvation and worship Him with hearts and lives consecrated to His service. Thanks be to God. Amen. This is the feast of victory for our God. Alleluia! Alleluia! Alleluia! Worthy is Christ the Lamb, who was slain, whose blood set us free to be people of God. This is the feast of victory for our God. Alleluia! Alleluia! Alleluia! Power, riches, wisdom, and strength, and honor, blessing, and glory are His. This is the feast of victory for our God. Alleluia! Alleluia! Alleluia!

Sing with all the people of God, and join in the hymn of all creation: Blessing, honor, glory and might be to God and the Lamb forever. Amen. This is the feast of victory for our God. Alleluia! Alleluia! Alleluia! For the Lamb who was slain has begun His reign. Alleluia! This is the feast of victory for our God. Alleluia! Alleluia! Alleluia!

Preface (Tune of “The Day of Resurrection ” LSB478) The Lord is with His people; Now may He be with you The Lord is with His servants; May He be with you, too! Now lift your hearts to praise Him, To God we lift them high. ‘Tis right to thank and praise him Who to His world draws nigh.

Thanksgiving Thanks and praise be to You, our Father, almighty Creator, merciful Lord, God of promise and fulfillment. Of old Your faithful people waited for the day of Your visitation, manifest at last when the time had fully come and You sent forth Jesus Christ, Your Son. Having seen His glory, now we wait for the day of consummation, when He will come again as Judge and King. And so, with the church on earth and the hosts of heaven, we praise Your name and join their unending hymn:

Sanctus (Tune of “O Sons and Daughters of the King” LSB470) Holy are You, the heav’nly King! With angel hosts we join to sing, “Your majesty fills ev’rything!” Alleluia! Alleluia! Alleluia! Holy are You, our Lord most high! Blessed is He who now draws nigh In God’s own name! With joy we cry: Alleluia! Alleluia! Alleluia! Holy are You through endless days! Our glad hosannas now we raise To greet You with exalted praise. Alleluia! Alleluia! Alleluia!

Lord’s Prayer Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name. Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil; for Thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever and ever. Amen.

Words of Institution The Agnus Dei (Tune of “Jesus Lives! The Victory’s Won” LSB490) Lamb of God, You take away All the sinful world’s transgression; Let Your mercy now, we pray, And Your peace be our possession. Grant us from our sin release; Lord, have mercy, grant us peace!

Easter Gospel (Please see Butterfly Inserts) Children’s Message Praise Team: “Christ is Risen He is Risen Indeed” Apostle’s Creed I believe in God the Father Almighty, maker of heaven and earth. And in Jesus Christ, His only Son, our Lord, who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died and was buried. He descended into hell. The third day he rose again from the dead. He ascended into heaven and sits at the right hand of God the Father Almighty. From thence he will come to judge the living and the dead. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy Christian Church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting. Amen.
