Nursery Workers Needed We are looking for individuals to work in the nursery on a rotating schedule during the Sunday School hour and the late Worship Service. This is a paid position. Sign up sheet is on the bulletin board outside of the church office for the months of September thru December. For more information contact Lindel Davis or the church office. Midweek and Confirmation start September 14. Dinner is at 6:00 p.m. Classes and activites will be from 6:30-8:00 p.m. If your child is entering 6th-8th grade and you want them to be in Pastor’s Confirmation Class, please let him know ASAP. Thanks! The Adult Instruction Class will meet on Wednesday mornings at 10:00 a.m. starting August 24. There will be three sessions that go over the basic teachings of Christianity. Anyone is welcome to attend. Attendance does not obligate you to anything, but this class is a requirement for those wishing to join our fellowship of faith. The Youth will be going to Splash Kingdom Water Park in Greenville on Saturday August 20. We will meet at Grace at 8:00 am and complete a quick service project before leaving at 10:00 am. Chain Saw Training The Disaster Care Ministry at Beautiful Savior Lutheran Church in Arlington, TX will hold a training session for anyone who wishes to be trained in “Basic Introduction to Chainsaw Safety and Operation.� Those trained may be deployed in the event of a natural disaster in our District, even our nation if needed and available. LERT members are required to be trained before responding. The goal is to train at least 21 people. Anyone 16 years of age or older who wants to be part of a Chainsaw Team Member needs to attend the 3-hour classroom session on Friday night, Sept 22 at Beautiful Savior from 7 to 10 PM, with registration and a meal from 6-7. Anyone 19 years of age or older who wants to be certified as a Chainsaw Operator MUST ALSO attend a 3-hour hands-on training session on Saturday, Sept 23. Saturday's hands-on session will divide the group into 3 training times: 8-11, 112, or 2-5, and will happen at Beautiful Savior. All attendees are required to wear steel-toed boots. Bring your chainsaw if you own one. Safety equipment such as chaps, hardhats, safety glasses, work gloves and steel-toed overshoes will be provided. The Training will be led by Pastor Ed Brashier, Southern District Disaster Response Coordinator. He is a second career pastor who was a power company lineman and tree surgeon for over 20 years before answering the Call to pastoral ministry.
