The second of three midweek advent services continues this Wednesday, December 13th. The Pioneer Campers will be providing the meal starting at 6:00 p.m. Members are asked to bring bread and deserts. The service will follow at 7:00p.m.

Children’s Program final practice will be December 16th, from 10 am till noon. Contact Jeana Parsons for more information.

First Quarter 2018 Portals of Prayer are available in the Narthex. Pick up a copy for you and one for a friend. We will be Christmas Caroling December 17th at 2:00p.m. Meet here at the church. If you have a specific place you would like to go please let the church office know.

The church large adult wheel chair is missing. If you borrowed it or know where it is please contact the church office.


Our Altar flowers this week are in Memory of Tom Braudrick. Please keep Cindy and her girls in your prayers over their loss. LWML is hosting a Ladies Cookie Exchange on December 16 from 2 p.m. till 4 p.m. Bring 3 dozen of your best cookies and exchange two of them for someone else's best. The other dozen will be gifted to our public servants. The Ladies of Grace Bible Study will meet this Wednesday, December 13th at 11:00 am in the church fellowship hall. They will study Mary the Mother of Jesus. Kay Clark will be providing the refreshments. All ladies are invited. LWML is selling Roadhouse Dinner Rolls for $5/ dozen. Extra butter can be purchased for $0.50 each. Sale ends December 13th. Proceeds will go towards schools supplies.


The theme of our Sundays in Advent this year is “Open Before Christmas.” You have seen tags that say, “Do not Open until December 25th.” But during Advent, you will be encouraged to open things before Christmas. December 3 Open Your Ears December 10 Open Your Eyes December 17 Open Your Heart December 24 Open your Mouth Also included in the Advent worship services is the Candlelight service on December 24th at 7:00 pm celebrating the Birth of Jesus. January 7th, 2018 Sarah Pullium will be consecrated and installed as our DCE intern. We want to welcome her with a Pot luck lunch and a Pantry shower following the second service. Please mark your calendars for this very special event. All members are encouraged to sign or leave a message in the red book even if you did not attend the anniversary celebration. The book will be in the Fellowship hall after services. Please take some time and visit the Fred Douglas Early Childhood Center website, www.shermanisd.net/Domain/212, and enjoy the pictures of the children and the coloring books that were purchased in part with donations from our congregation.
