January 10, 2016 First Sunday after Epiphany The Baptism of our Lord is an “Epiphany” of the one true God in the flesh and blood of Jesus Christ. In divine mercy, He takes His place with sinners and takes their sin upon Himself. He had no sins of His own, but He took the sins of the world upon Himself and so was baptized into His own death. As you are baptized with a baptism like His, so also are you united with Him in His death and resurrection that you “might walk in newness of life” (Rom. 6:4). 2411 Woodlake Road Denison, Texas 75021 (903) 465-1016 glcdenison.org

Join us for a potluck dinner today after the late service to visit with Jenn Gundmeier as she gets to know us and our area. Please keep Jenn in your prayers as she seeks God’s will and tries to determine whether or not He is leading her to Grace. Calendars for January have been printed. They are in the Narthex/Foyer. The Thursday morning Men’s Bible Study Breakfast at Braum’s will meet this week.

Ladies of Grace meets this Wednesday, January 13, at 11 a.m. in the Fellowship Hall. Part of this session will be devoted to prayers and a devotion for the new year. Then we will consider our study plans and roles for service. Please, please bring your suggestions. Ladies of Grace welcomes all women and their guests. Our open discussion and expression give us the opportunity to talk about topics in detail, taking into account ideas, opinions, and experiences. Following our study we enjoy a potluck luncheon.

We have a SMALL number of dedicated volunteers that run our PowerPoint presentations that project the service onto the screen during our worship services. We are looking for some others who will help out. Training will be provided. There is an ivory colored sign up sheet on the bulletin board next to the mailboxes. Please consider helping here at Grace in this way. Thought about ELECTRONIC GIVING? You can set up direct deposits of your offerings to the church account at NO COST TO YOU. It is a very convenient and secure way to support the ministry of our congregation. If you want more information or would like to set this up, contact the church office. T-shirt are still available in the church office. Available adult sizes large and x-large in green, blue, and red available for $12. Please see Pastor or Elaine. Sojourners will meet Tuesday, January 12 at 10 a.m. Contact Gorlyn Bronstad at 903-813-6428 for more information.

Mark your calendar: January 23 is a work day to help clean up in the Garland and Rowlett area. We will be meeting at Tree of Life Lutheran Church in Garland at 9:00 a.m. More details will be shared through the TABLE and the church website as they become available.

Who has requested prayers? Who was that person I talked to after service? What’s going on at Grace this month?

Those are the types of questions that are easily answered if you join The Table! When you join, fill out your profile and share a picture of yourself, you are adding to the online church directory that is available instantly to other members...but don’t worry, it is not made public. It is only visible to members and regular attenders of Grace. It is also a great way to share information, prayer requests, ask for assistance, and more.
