The first Pentecost was a dramatic occasion! In a moment, the confusion of languages from centuries ago at Babel was reversed. In a moment, the disciples were changed from a timid band of followers to the boldest brotherhood of leaders the world has ever known. In a moment, the message and the Spirit changed three thousand skeptics into devoted believers and the Christian Church was born! Just as dramatic a rebirth of joy is offered to you today by the Holy Spirit. May He be among us in our worship!

A reminder to all council members, there will be a council meeting today after the late service. The Sanctuary Facelift committee will present its recommendations to the Church Council today. It will be up to the Church Council to act on these recommendations and present them to the Voter’s Assembly. Stay tuned for more information.
Memorial Day Weekend we will have only one service— 10:30 a.m. on Sunday May 27. This will be outside weather permitting. The service will be followed by a picnic. The Men of Grace will provide hotdogs, hamburgers, buns, toppings and drinks. Members are asked to bring sides and deserts. Grace Food Drive Grace is collecting non perishable food and drink items through the end of May. Please bring any items you would like to donate and place them in the baskets located in the narthex. Donations will then be distributed to local food pantries.
As Grace prepares to begin hosting for Family Promise, we know there will be some expenses. We have a member who has offered to match any contributions to help with our in-house expenses for Family Promise—up to $3000. We will receive contributions toward this match between now and July 29. (Please note: these funds will only be used here at Grace for Family Promise related expenses. They will not be forwarded to Family Promise of Grayson County.) If you would like to contribute, please mark your contribution “Family Promise Matching Funds”
