Opening Song
Come Now is the Time/Here I Am to Worship (Medley) Come, now is the time to worship. Come, now is the time to give your heart. Come, just as you are to worship. Come, just as you are before your God. Come. One day every tongue will confess you are God. One day every knee will bow. Still, the greatest treasure remains for those Who stand before you now. Come, now is the time to worship. Come, now is the time to give your heart. Come, just as you are to worship. Come, just as you are before your God. Come. Light of the world, You stepped down into darkness. Opened my eyes let me see. Beauty that made this heart adore you, hope of a life spent with you. So here I am to worship, Here I am to bow down, Here I am to say that You're my God, You're altogether lovely, altogether worthy, altogether wonderful to me. King of all days, Oh so highly exalted Glorious in heaven above. Humbly You came to the earth You created. All for love's sake became poor. So here I am to worship, Here I am to bow down, Here I am to say that You're my God, You're altogether lovely, altogether worthy, altogether wonderful to me. I'll never know how much it cost to see my sin upon that cross. I'll never know how much it cost to see my sin upon that cross. So here I am to worship, Here I am to bow down, Here I am to say that You're my God, You're altogether lovely, altogether worthy, altogether wonderful to me. Come, now is the time to worship. Come, now is the time to give your heart. Come, just as you are to worship. Come, just as you are before your God. Come.

Holy, holy, holy! Lord God Almighty! Early in the morning our song shall rise to Thee; Holy, holy, holy, merciful and mighty! God in Three Persons, blessed Trinity!
Holy, holy, holy! All the saints adore Thee, Casting down their golden crowns around the glassy sea; Cherubim and seraphim falling down before Thee, Which wert and art and evermore shalt be. Holy, holy, holy! Tho' the darkness hide Thee, Tho' the eye of sinful man Thy glory may not see, Only Thou are holy; there is none beside Thee, Perfect in pow'r, in love, and purity. Holy, holy, holy! Lord God Almighty! All Thy works shall praise Thy name in earth and sky and sea. Holy, holy, holy, merciful and mighty! God in Three Persons, blessed Trinity!
Oh, Let the Son of God Enfold You
Oh, let the Son of God enfold you With His Spirit and His love, Let Him fill your life And satisfy your soul. Oh, let Him have The things that hold you, And His Spirit, like a dove, Will descend upon your life And make you whole. Refrain: Jesus, oh Jesus, Come and fill Your lambs. Jesus, oh Jesus, Come and fill Your lambs.
Oh, come and sing this song with gladness As your hearts are filled with joy, Lift your hands in sweet surrender To His name. Oh, give Him all your tears and sadness, Give Him all your years of pain, And you'll enter into life in Jesus' name.
Responsive Prayer Let us give thanks to God for our nation, the land of our birth, and all the liberties we enjoy. For the blessings of our country’s history: We give you thanks, O God. For leaders in nation and state, and for those who in days past and in these present times have worked for our freedom: We give you thanks, O God. For those who in all times and places have been true and brave, who have lived upright lives and ministered to the needs of their fellowman: We give you thanks, O God. For those who served their country in its hour of need, and especially for those who gave even their lives in that service: We give you thanks, O God. O almighty God, our merciful Father, as we remember your servants, remembering with gratitude their courage and strength, we hold before you those who mourn them. Look upon your bereaved servants with your mercy. As this day brings them memories of those they have lost, may it also bring your consolation and the assurance that their loved ones who died with faith in Christ are alive now and forever in your living presence. In His name we pray. Amen.
Memorial Day
Thoughts and Prayers
Song: Come See the Son Come, see the Son of the living God hanging on a tree, dying there for you and me. Come, see the bringer of truth and grace nailed there for us, agony across his face. This is love displayed, this is mercy perfectly portrayed in Christ, the cross of Christ. Come, see the innocent Son of God punished there for us, rescuing us with his blood. Come, see the healer of wounded souls crucified for us, broken there to make us whole. This is love displayed, this is mercy perfectly portrayed in Christ, the cross of Christ. Come, see the tomb where they laid him down; the stone is rolled away, nothing but the grave clothes now. Come, see the King is alive again, risen from the dead, ushering a new age in. This is victory, this is life for everyone who will believe in Jesus Christ. Come and worship him, come and sing to him, come and live for him, Jesus Christ. We will worship him, We will sing to him, We will live for him, Jesus Christ.
Isaiah 6:1-8 In the year that King Uzziah died, I saw the Lord seated on a throne, high and exalted, and the train of his robe filled the temple. 2 Above him were seraphs, each with six wings: With two wings they covered their faces, with two they covered their feet, and with two they were flying. 3 And they were calling to one another: “Holy, holy, holy is the Lord Almighty; the whole earth is full of his glory.” 4 At the sound of their voices the doorposts and thresholds shook and the temple was filled with smoke. 5 “Woe to me!” I cried. “I am ruined! For I am a man of unclean lips, and I live among a people of unclean lips, and my eyes have seen the King, the Lord Almighty.” 6 Then one of the seraphs flew to me
with a live coal in his hand, which he had taken with tongs from the altar. 7 With it he touched my mouth and said, “See, this has touched your lips; your guilt is taken away and your sin atoned for.” 8 Then I heard the voice of the Lord saying, “Whom shall I send? And who will go for us?” And I said, “Here am I. Send me!” This is the Word of the Lord Thanks be to God!
John 3:1-17 Now there was a man of the Pharisees named Nicodemus, a member of the Jewish ruling council. He came to Jesus at night and said, "Rabbi, we know you are a teacher who has come from God. For no one could perform the miraculous signs you are doing if God were not with him." In reply Jesus declared, "I tell you the truth, no one can see the kingdom of God unless he is born again." "How can a man be born when he is old?" Nicodemus asked. "Surely he cannot enter a second time into his mother's womb to be born!" Jesus answered, "I tell you the truth, no one can enter the kingdom of God unless he is born of water and the Spirit. Flesh gives birth to flesh, but the Spirit gives birth to spirit. You should not be surprised at my saying, `You must be born again.' The wind blows wherever it pleases. You hear its sound, but you cannot tell where it comes from or where it is going. So it is with everyone born of the Spirit." "How can this be?" Nicodemus asked. "You are Israel's teacher," said Jesus, "and do you not understand these things? I tell you the truth, we speak of what we know, and we testify to what we have seen, but still you people do not accept our testimony. I have spoken to you of earthly things and you do not believe; how then will you believe if I speak of heavenly things? No one has ever gone into heaven except the one who came from heaven-- the Son of Man. Just as Moses lifted up the snake in the desert, so the Son of Man must be lifted up, that everyone who believes in him may have eternal life. "For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him.
The Gospel of the Lord. Praise to You, O Christ.
Everlasting God Strength will rise as we wait upon the Lord We will wait upon the Lord We will wait upon the Lord (repeat) Our God, You reign forever Our hope, our Strong Deliverer You are the everlasting God The everlasting God You do not faint You won't grow weary You're the defender of the weak You comfort those in need You lift us up on wings like eagles (repeat all)
Affirmation of Faith In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. (Genesis 1:1) I believe in God the Father, the Almighty, Creator of heaven and earth. God loved the world so much that he gave his only Son, so that everyone who has faith in him may not die but have eternal life. (John 3:16) I believe in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord. The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Most High will overshadow you; and for that reason the Holy Child to be born will be called the Son of God. (Luke 1:35) Who was conceived by the power of the Holy Spirit, born of the virgin Mary.
Then Pilate delivered him to be crucified, and they took him and led him away. (John 19:16) He suffered and was crucified for us under Pontius Pilate, he died and was buried. Christ was put to death in the body; in the Spirit he was brought to life. And in the Spirit he went and made his proclamation to the imprisoned spirits. (1 Peter 3:18-19) He descended into hell. Fear nothing, you are looking for Jesus of Nazareth, who was crucified. He is not here. Look, there is the place where they laid him. (Mark 16:6) And the third day he rose again according to the Scriptures. Then Jesus led them out along the road to Bethany, and lifting his hands to heaven, he blessed them, and then began rising into the sky and went on to heaven. (Luke 24:50-51) He entered into heaven and is seated at the right hand of God the Father Almighty. We must all appear before the judgment of Christ. (II Corinthians 5:10) He will come again to judge the living and the dead. Surely you know that you are God's temple where the Spirit of God dwells. (I Corinthians 3:16) I believe in the Holy Spirit. As we have many members in one body...so we, being many, are one body in Christ. (Romans 12:5) I believe in the holy Christian Church, the Communion of Saints... Christ bought our freedom with his blood and forgave us all our sins. (Colossians 1:14) I believe in the forgiveness of sins.
Jesus answered, "I tell you this, today, you shall be with me in paradise." I believe in the resurrection of the body and the life everlasting. Amen.
Children’s Message Song—Thy Mercy
Thy mercy my God is the theme of my song, The joy of my heart, and the boast of my tongue. Thy free grace alone, from the first to the last, Hath won my affection and bound my soul fast.
Without Thy sweet mercy, I could not live here. Sin would reduce me to utter despair, But through Thy free goodness, my spirit's revived And He that first made me still keeps me alive. Thy mercy is more than a match for my heart, Which wonders to feel its own hardness depart. Dissolved by Thy goodness, I fall to the ground And weep for the praise of the mercy I've found. Great Father of mercies, Thy goodness I own In the covenant love of Thy crucified Son. All praise to the Spirit, Whose whisper divine Seals mercy and pardon and righteousness mine.
Sermon Offering Prayers & Lord’s Prayer Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name, Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven; give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For Thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever and ever. Amen.
Benediction The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, the love of God and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with you all. Amen. Closing Song: To Him Who By the Power Within To Him who by the pow’r within Is able to do more than we can To Him be glory without end Amen. Amen
