Grace Lutheran Denison, Texas LWML Sunday October 1, 2017 Be Ready to Confess Jesus! 2017 marks three significant anniversaries: the 500th anniversary of Luther’s posting of the 95 Theses, the 75th anniversary of Grace Lutheran Church in Denison, and the 75th anniversary of the Lutheran Women’s Missionary League. Confessing the faith has not gotten any easier since over the years. In fact, it may be more difficult to speak and to live as Christians now – and the future may even more challenging. Yet God is faithful and has promised that His church will survive all the trials that the devil, the world, and our own sinful flesh can throw at us. Building on God’s promises, we know that this is our time to be distinctly Lutheran. Since 1942, the LWML has affirmed each woman’s identity as a child of God and her relationship with Jesus Christ, encouraged and equipped Christian women to live out their lives in active mission ministries, and supported missions around the world through their sacrificial gifts of mites, tithes, offerings, and tireless service. Get ready for the Fall Festival! Hayrides, bonfire, nature walks and great fellowship. Once again the Mattil’s will host the festival on their land. The fun starts at 4 pm on October 21st.

Grace Lutheran Church 75th Anniversary Dinner Mark your calendars for Sunday November 5th. The anniversary committee is preparing a special service and lunch for the entire congregation (family and former members are invited also). The Kidd-Key Auditorium has been rented out for this momentous occasion. Please RSVP to the church office by October 27th, with the number of members and non members that plan on attending. We need an accurate accounting for the caterers.
We are collecting items to be placed in a time capsule during our 75th Anniversary celebration. The capsule will be buried on church grounds and reopened in October 2042. If you have an item pertinent to Grace and our history as a congregation that you would like to donate, please provide to the church office during the month of October.

Please help make the grounds around Grace look great! We are still in need of mowers. We have all the equipment (it’s a riding mower) we just need the man power to get the job done. The sign up sheet is on the bulletin board. Midweek continues this Wednesday starting at 6:00 pm with a meal. Brandon Cranshaw will lead the adult study reviewing the Book of Revelation. Flowers on the altar are for the anniversary of Willie & Kay Clark on the 4th and for Kay’s birthday on the 5th.
