Position: Research Fellow Description The Georgia Leadership Institute for School Improvement (GLISI) seeks a Research Fellow to support the organization’s Research and Evaluation department. Reporting to the Director of Research and Evaluation, the fellow will perform literature reviews and other activities that contribute to the development of research briefs, reports, and impact studies. In particular, the fellow will contribute to an innovative, big-picture study that explores approaches to leadership training evaluation.
Primary Responsibilities Conduct rigorous interdisciplinary research on topics that advance GLISI’s mission and contribute to the knowledge base on education leadership. Contribute to the development of technical reports and original GLISI publications. Assist in the development of research designs, including interview protocols and survey instruments. Analyze qualitative and quantitative data and summarize findings in charts, graphs, or narratives.
Minimum Qualifications Graduate student currently pursuing a degree in education, public policy, education psychology or other related field Strong knowledge of research and evaluation design Demonstrated experience conducting and annotating literature reviews Excellent analytical, writing, editing, and data management skills required. Skilled in preparing data sets for analysis, including cleaning, aggregating, and disaggregating data Ability to work independently and collaboratively Experience with data analysis tools (e.g., NVivo, STATA, SPSS) Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite software (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint) The fellowship duration is September 2015 through May 2016. Fellows are paid at a $12.50 hourly rate and expected to work 10 hours per week. Academic credit can also be arranged through the fellow’s sponsoring institution.
