100 % Design and DesignJunction were

running concurrently this year, giving us a chance to explore both of their selection of contemporary designs for interiors, workplaces and kitchens along with creative solutions.

Here are our pick of highlights...

Bright colours were injected into the exhibition spaces with a pop inspired palette of furniture, lighting

and home accessories. Some pieces were showing the fun side of interiors, with bird or oversized bow shaped lighting and toy inspired concepts.

Ceramic materials were bringing

innovative style into interiors, with a stylish selection of Designer tiles for walls and floors, from striking

Moroccan patterns through contemporary motifs.

Striking pieces of furniture demonstrated the remarkable malleability of materials such as wood, plastic or even LED lighting systems.

Luxuriant floral motifs were blooming, on wall surfaces, furniture and accessories. Nature was also featured quite a lot, inspiring material treatments and designs for light fittings and furniture.

The shows had a very tactile quality this year, enticing visitors to touch,

creating depth through textures,

with soft finishes, fabrics and papers.

Workplace designs are increasingly focusing on the concept of personal space, either in the shape of soundproof booth or mobile meeting pods.


Hard textured finishes stay popular in interiors, to add depth, tactile

qualities, sensuality and an organic feel.



Designers showcased their take on a fun trend, focusing on the simplistic beauty of geometric shapes and lines, together for

creative graphic results.

In a very similar graphic approach, designers seemed to have drawn lines in space encaging and underlining light, creating striking shadows, product or displays.
