VISION

The Global Interdependence Center (GIC) strives to continue to be a leader in influencing world policies for the greater good through cooperative, international engagement among diverse thought leaders.

MISSION

GIC brings together a network of international experts in policymaking, central banking, industry, and academia to explore issues and policies concerning global interdependence that impacts world economies and quality of life. We provide a neutral, nonpartisan forum to expand awareness, advance shared interests, and promote social stewardship. Our College of Central Bankers provides a distinguished forum for former leaders of monetary policymaking organizations to share their insights and thought leadership on critical issues facing central banking and global monetary policy.

2 OVERVIEW

A LETTER FROM OUR LEADERS

We invite you to review the Global Interdependence Center’s contributions to understanding economic policies impacting world economies and living standards. As we move another year from the global pandemic, the world continues to evolve through positive and negative interdependencies. The GIC is passionate about providing a neutral, nonpartisan forum for our global network of experts in policymaking, central banking, industry, and academia to expand awareness and advance shared interests.

The GIC’s College of Central Bankers (CCB) remains an unparalleled organization where former central bank leaders from around the globe convene to discuss and debate monetary policy developments and share their unique insights and knowledge regarding the future of central banking. Through the participation of 21 distinguished college fellows, the CCB has elevated the dialogue regarding today’s complex monetary policy framework and its impact.

OVERVIEW
3 O VERVIEW
GIC guests at the Desmarais Global Finance Lecture: Central Bank Digital Currencies and Alternative Payment Systems in Montréal, Canada on September 28, 2022.

On the occasion of our 40th Annual Monetary and Trade Conference, held annually in partnership with Drexel University LeBow College of Business, GIC was delighted to honor our longstanding Board Member, George Tsetsekos, Ph.D., with the Global Citizen Award in recognition of his decade of service on our Board of Directors and his exemplary commitment tothe mission of Global Interdependence Center.

As we advance toward GIC’s 50th Anniversary in 2026, our Board of Directors reflected on GIC’s mission and vision statements. We worked to refresh and revise these statements, which went into circulation in May 2022, and modernize the GIC to reflect the organization’s passion and purpose more accurately.

In the following pages, you will read more about GIC’s work toward our goals to deepen our impact and increase engagement through our premier programs. As always, we wish to express our gratitude to our supporters and stakeholders, including our members, private sector corporations, foundations, and universities, without whom we could not achieve our mission to explore our rapidly changing world and convene neutral forums to discuss both good and bad global interdependencies. We hope you will enjoy reading this annual report and seeing the momentum our dedicated staff has achieved in the past year.
