Friday 15th January (Breakfast) – Hong Kong Breakfast at the Island Shangri-La Hotel Coach Transport is offered between 0900hrs and 2230hrs for getting to and from meetings as well as to and from Dinner The Essence of Hong Kong (4 hours) Meet your Guide in the hotel’s lobby at 1:30 pm for a fascinating tour of Hong Kong. We begin by immersing you in the more traditional side of Hong Kong which is where the city and its residents’ roots lie. Stopping in Hong Kong’s Central District, your guide introduces the concept of Feng Shui, a long held tradition in superstitious Hong Kong. From here we offer a visit to one of the city’s Dried Provisions Markets where all manners of dried foods are available. These are not only used in cooking but also in the preparation of tonic soups and even in traditional medicines. While here your guide will relish telling you stories of their own childhood and of local festivals which will really help bring the area to life. Carrying onwards, we will pay a visit to the atmospheric Man Mo Temple located on Hollywood Road. We conclude the day with Victoria Peak. No visitor to Hong Kong can claim that their journey is complete until they have paid a visit to the Peak. The stunning views over Hong Kong’s Victoria Harbor from the Peak are a highlight as we ascend the Peak by its iconic funicular railway. From here the coach returns us to the Hotel.
