Celebrating Healthy Pets!

Summer, 2013

As Canada's Healthy Choice for Pets, Global Pet Foods is stepping up our efforts in 2013 to provide more education to help pet parents improve the health of their pets. Global Pet Foods believes that there are four elements that are key to caring for pets: Mind + Body + Soul + Spirit. By offering a wide variety of unique, healthy and wholesome pet products, the Healthy Pet Care Specialists in every Global Pet Foods store can help pet parents make informed decisions for the health and well-being of their companion pets. We celebrate all pet parents who are incorporating these elements into the care of their companion pets on a daily basis!

Diego: Mom, Alanna (Quebec), will ensure that he drinks a lot of water to stay cool this summer.

Jake (Waterloo, Ontario) will keep his pup healthy this summer by taking her outside as much as possible. To stay cool, they’ll enjoy a nice swim together whenever they can.

Lemon: This is

Sharon`s (Toronto) best friend, Lemon! Lemon is a French bulldog mix, and because of her flat face, she can suffer from heat stroke quite easily. To keep Lemon happy and healthy this summer, Sharon will be sure to keep her cool and comfortable by making sure that she has plenty of fresh water and a shady place to romp and play!

Charlie: Cindy will keep Charlie, a rough collie, healthy this summer by feeding him a nutritious aand well-balanced food and ensuring that he gets to do his favorite thing playing all the time!

Meeko, Johnny & Cujo: To keep Meeko (cat) and Johnny and Cujo (ferrets) healthy, Annik (New Brunswick) feeds them Orijen kitten/cat food and Go! Grain free canned cat food. During the summer, she will increase the amount of canned food to make sure that they get all the water intake they need. Annik will also put ice cubes in their water dishes to keep their water cool, which they love! During the summer days, Annik will walk Meeko when it’s cool. Meeko will also enjoy relaxing on the patio (with harness on, of course). Johnny and Cujo will go for walks during the cool evenings. The ferrets will enjoy the A/C as well as play in a tub of water during the hot weather. In addition, Annik schedules visits to the vet for all 3 of her companion pets.

Cola: Lisa (Alberta) will keep Cola, a Havanese cross (the black dog), healthy this summer by feeding her a high quality pet food and let her continue to run like the wind with her friends.

Jasmine: Kristine (Prince Edward Island) will maintain Jasmine’s health and happiness this summer by exercising with her at the beach, never leaving her in the car alone, and only feeding her healthy treats.

Hansel: Kathleen (Ontario) will take care of Hansel this summer by making sure that his diet is a healthy one and that he gets a lot of daily exercise. The exercise regime will include swimming during the hot days! Hansel`s family also promises to help control fleas and ticks, and keep Hansel on a grainfree diet.

Sasha: Laurie (Ontario) will help Sasha stay happy and healthy this summer by feeding her a nutritious and holistic diet, limiting snacks, and taking Sasha for long walks every day.

Chewy: Jenny (Ontario) plans to keep Chewy healthy this summer by relaxing on the beach in between swims. Jenny will also focus on lots of exercise for Chewy as another way to keep him healthy. Chewy loves to chase after his favourite mini balls so Jenny will keep throwing them for him!

Willow: Sandra (Ontario) loves shopping at Global Pet Foods to buy Willow`s food. Sandra wants Willow to stay healthy so she feeds her a healthy and holistic food. \\

Molly: Margaret (Ontario) takes great care of Molly. She is very mindful of grooming her through baths, brushing her coat and ensuring that she looks and smells good! Margaret makes sure that Molly exercises daily. Molly is ready every morning & night for her walk. She loves to meet up with her furry friends in the park and play ball every day.

Sheldon and Nigel: Meet Sheldon, 5 months (left) and Nigel, 2 years (right). Nigel is a VERY pudgy boy and Ashley (Ontario) will continue maintaining his diet of a healthy low-calorie food, less treats, and lots of exercise as she chases Sheldon around.

Kinney: Colleen (Nova Scotia) will keep Kinney healthy by making sure he has lots of hay, water, and some lettuce each day (and plenty of pets and kisses!).

Sweetie: Sweetie (Ontario) will stay healthy this summer by eating less treats. Fortunately, she gets a lot of exercise because she loves long walks and lots of playtime. She also LOVES playing in the water!

Nova: David (Ontario) will see to it that Nova stays healthy this summer by taking her on plenty of walks, swimming, and feeding her a proper RAW diet.
