In only 5 days the participants from all over the Arab Region had managed to document, film and produce creative and interesting stories focusing on creating awareness and promote social change through their short movies. One of the participants and trainer at the Platform, Samia Fitouri, attended the workshop: “It felt extremely rewarding to be part of the Doctivist workshop on both personal and technical levels. On a personal level, it was amazing to come together with a number of inspiring young people across the region and share experiences and skills. On a technical level, I have learned a lot especially in terms of storytelling, camera use, film editing and direction. As a group project, I produced a short movie about the gypsy community in Jordan. Getting involved in such a project has been a life experience to me as I got the chance to discover other aspects of the Jordanian society and document shots that are not accessible to regular citizens.
