Tayler is the daughter of Ron and Sheryn Drewelow of Mason City and Kelly and Julie Vedane-Finn of Rogersville, Mo. Chace is the son of Phillip and Daylen Doyal of Seguin, Texas. Maid of honor was Madison Finn, sister of the bride. Other attendants to the bride were Jessyca Smith, Kristina Torres and Wynter Doyal. Junior bridesmaid was Lauryn Drewelow. Tayler’s personal attendants were Jessica Trappe and Lisa Blinkmann. Flower girl was Riley Drewelow. Best man was Jason Doyal, brother of the groom. Other attendants to the groom were Chris McGill, Pat Sweeney and Brad Shatek. Ushers were Kyle Finn and Zac Hueneman. Soloist was Alycia Brunsvold and organist was Connie Bleile. A reception hosted by Tom and Sue Teggatz and Tom and Pauline Shatek was held at the Knights of Columbus Hall in Mason City. Tayler is a student at Texas State University in San Marcos, Texas, pursuing a degree in business management/finance. Chace is employed as an account manager with Ecolab Chemical Company in San Antonio, Texas. The couple is at home in Schertz, Texas.

ROCHESTER, N.Y. — Mary (Kerdus) Roddy, of Finger Lakes, N.Y., will celebrate receiving her graduate degree, a master of science degree in strategic marketing, Dec. 19, from Roberts Wesleyan College, in Rochester, N.Y. Roddy is the daughter of Reta Kerdus, Mason City, Iowa, and the late Bill Kerdus. Roddy will be delivering an address themed, “Go the Distance,” as the commencement speaker, representing all graduate program honorees at the ceremony. A Mason City native and graduate of Newman High School and Northern Illinois University, Roddy is also celebrating over 31 years in sales and marketing for Xerox Corporation. She has enjoyed domestic assignments in Minnesota, New York and California, along with international marketing travel and experiences, including her current role as World

Students selected for People to People Program CLEAR LAKE — Jada Kern and Megan Merfeld, students at Clear Lake Middle School in Clear Lake, have been accepted into the People to People Student Ambassador Program, an educational travel program founded by President Dwight D. Eisenhower. The pair will explore Australia for 15 days next summer as members of the Iowa delegation. Each can earn academic credit while getting to know the people, culture and history of the places visited.

They will take part in a variety of activities such as a community service project, snorkeling at the Great Barrier Reef and climbing the Sydney Harbour Bridge. It is considered an honor to be accepted into the program. Middle school students from the state of Iowa will travel under the leadership of Briana Bartlett, a teacher-leader from Oskaloosa Elementary School. The delegation also is led by Terri Schott, who teaches in Cedar Rapids at Franklin Middle School.

Kristen is the daughter of Dave and Joan Hickman of Mason City, and the granddaughter of Ardis Ellwood of Forest City and Marie Hickman of Belmond. Chris is the son of Jake and Julie Fox of Hawarden, Iowa. He is the grandson of Gary and Kathy Fox, also of Hawarden. Kristen wore a layered lace gown with a scalloped beaded veil. Her maid of honor was Kristin Sturm. Her other attendants were Shea Larson, Kelsey Zlab and Sarah Schneider. Personal attendants were Kristen Becker and Kristin Kapusinski. Best man was Ricky DeHamer. Other attendants to the groom were Justin Meeks, J.R. Miller, and Taylor Vanden Wynboom. Ushers were Matt Hickman, Bret Askeland and Brandon O’Neall. Special music, “Parents Prayer,” “When You Say Nothing At All,” and “Shine On Us,” was performed by soloists Beth Fox and Andrea Kapusinski. A reception hosted by Jane and Jerry Askeland and Mike and Terri Kallsen was held at the Mason City Country Club. Kristen is a graduate of Mason City High School. She received a BA degree from Central College and an MS degree from Marquette University. She is employed with Central Rehabilitation in West Des Moines. Chris is a graduate of West Sioux High School and received a BA degree from Central College. He is employed with Wells Fargo in West Des Moines. Following a honeymoon trip to Cabo San Lucas, the couple is at home in West Des Moines.
