A Stunning Concert By Una Vocis Saturday evening, Una Vocis, a choral ensemble under the artistic direction of Dennis Lee, presented their spring concert at Holy Family Catholic Church. Dennis stated, “we will present solo, quartet and full ensemble hues of the Singer’s Gift through music that has been entrusted to us by great composers.” The concert was breathtaking with a broad variety of pieces, dating back to the 1600s to modern compositions. The beautiful voices blended under Lee’s direction, provided for two hours of complete respite from the external forces that impact us on a dayto-day basis, locally, regionally, nationally and the entire world. Thank you to each of the beautiful human voices, for Lee’s leadership and the thousands of volunteer hours that brought this magic to north central Iowa. — Ann MacGregor, Mason City

For those we met in public, your gentle voice and hand in ours helped us through a most difficult period. For those who sent cards, letters and flowers, your expression of sympathy will always be remembered. To the thousand or so who attended Darrion’s visitation services at Fullerton-James Chapel last Thursday, we are sincerely grateful to you for your prayers and for being with us during our time of mourning. For the hundred plus who attended Darrion’s funeral service at Holy Family Parish on Friday, you have given us something to treasure always. To the Globe Gazette, you have our sincere appreciation for the article on Darrion in Sunday’s paper. And last, but certainly not least, many blessed thanks to Father Jon Seda at Holy Family Parish. You helped us on the path to overcome our wounded spirits and to not let our hearts be troubled or afraid. In closing, let me say again thank all of you for making this very difficult time just a little easier for me and my family. God Bless each of you for all you did for us! All of you were part of God’s army He sent to help us through the trying moments. — Leonard Foster Mason City
