Henrich also works part-time at HyVee in Mason City. Henrich plans to attend Simpson College and double major in biology and mathematics, to pursue a career in the medical field, as a physician or medical researcher.

SIOUX CITY — Kathleen Kruckenberg, of Mason City, received the Distinguished Senior Alumni Award at an Honors Convocation held at Briar Cliff University. The award is presented to a student for high scholarship, unusual dedication and selfless commitment to Briar Cliff University, according to a news release. Kruckenberg is a history and secondary education major. In addition to her excellent academic record, she has been an active member of the Education Club, and this year served as an officer of the club. She also was a peer advisor leader and participated in service trips with university groups. In addition to the Distinguished Senior Alumni Award, Kruckenberg was the recipient of the Secondary Education Departmental Award and the History Departmental Award.

LON GROSKREUTZ, of Wells, Minn., is the son of Mildred and the late Marvin Groskreutz of Wells. He is a graduate of Wells High School and from Mankato Technical College with a machinist’s degree. Lon is employed with Herman Manufacturing in Wells. The couple plans to be married at 2 p.m. on July 25, 2009, at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Manly.
