Ruth was a bus driver for the Sheffield-Chapin School district for 15 years, and then became the postmaster in Chapin, a position she held for 29 years. Her family includes: Gene and Dawn Bruhn, of Clarksville; Tom and Kay Hickson, of Phelps, Wis.; Leona Van Every, deceased, and Robert and Pauline Van Every, of Ankeny. She has seven grandchildren, 11 greatgrandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
