Schuknecht would like to extend the sincerest of Thank You’s to Dillinger’s Bar & Grill of Mason City for hosting the recent memorial fundraiser in Larry’s honor. What a wonderful event! The Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation Gala, Mardi Gras Ball! was held Sat., Aug. 22 at the Surf Ballroom, Clear Lake. This year’s event was a great success. Hy-Vee East catered the event, and their New Orleans cuisine was wonderful! Music was provided by Raiders of the Lost Art. Youth from Mason City High School delighted the crowd by doing ‘street acts’ throughout the evening. Attendees added to the festival feeling by wearing Mardi Gras hats, wigs, etc. Together we were able to raise over $60,000! Thank you to: Corporate Partners: Hy-Vee Food & Drugstore of Mason City & Woodharbor. Sponsors; Al Hejna Race Team, CL Tel, Central Park Dentistry, Clausen Plumbing & Heating, Clear Lake Bank & Trust, D & D Sales, Decker House Bed & Breakfast, Dean Synder Construction, Diamond Jo Casino, Dimensional Graphics, Edgar Financial Group, First Citizens National Bank, Floor to Ceiling Store, Globe Gazette, Henkel Construction, KIMT TV, Kingland Systems Corp., Lake Auto Parts, Larry Elwood Construction, Larson Printing Co., Mason City Overhead Door, Moorman Clothiers, North Iowa Golf Center, Omnitel Communications, Stadheim Jewelers, Stoney Creek Hospitality Corp., Sukup Manufacturing, Three Eagles Communications. Each year approximately 30,000 Americans are diagnosed with Type 1 (Juvenile) Diabetes, 13,000 are children. That’s 35 children every day. Your donation will make a dramatic impact. Typically, more than 85 percent of JDRF’s expenditures directly support research and research-related education. — JDRF Committee, North Iowa Affiliate
