In Memory of Robert (Bob) Strickler 1933-2004 It’s been six years since we’ve held your hand, heard your laugh or seen you smile and we miss you; but your presence is around us everyday. You gave us love.

Joan and Family

I would like to introduce you to a good man. My best friend, my big brother. A loving son and dedicated husband, his name is Chad Sterrenberg. For those of you who don't know Chad -- he is a 32 year old man who likes to stay active with woodworking, riding his bike, lifting weights and working in his yard or garden in the warm summer months. Chad also has a passion for watching professional football and basketball. In addition to these things Chad is a man who has lived most of his life struggling with Type 1 diabetes, or better known as Juvenile diabetes. Chad has faced many obstacles with this disease such as; severe weight loss, near diabetic coma episodes and worst of all -- the loss of 75% of his eyesight. I am so proud of Chad for his strength to persevere and bravery to endure many awful surgeries to restore what eyesight he has today. I am thankful to have my big brother in my life. He is one of the kindest, most likable human beings I know. That is why I want to help Chad spread the word of his need for a sensor to assist his insulin pump. Diabetic sensors are not inexpensive and Medicare and Medicaid do not cover the cost at this time. The use of an insulin pump along with a sensor helps an insulin dependent diabetic live more like a healthy person, but also assists in stabilizing sugar levels, mood and energy. This allows the diabetic to avoid further deterioration of the body, depression and fatigue more effectively.

A benefit is planned for the cost of the sensor. The remainder of the proceeds will be donated to the Juvenile Diabetes Foundation. If you're interested in donating your time or resources please call (515) 864-9531.
