The people of North Iowa have once again, with their incredible generosity, helped hundreds if not thousands of individuals during this past holiday season. The Globe Gazette Cheer Fund and the Salvation Army exceeded their goals, students gave food to food banks, and individuals worked at community kitchens, gave toys to “Toys for Tots” and made it possible for children to “Shop with Cops.” Francis Lauer Youth Services “Little Wishes” campaign also exceeded its goal. As Executive Director I would like to personally thank the many generous people of North Iowa who donated to our “Little Wishes” campaign! It is truly humbling to have people come together to make sure that families and children have the holidays they deserve. The donations of money, clothing, boots, coats, hats/mittens, quilts, linens, toys, and numerous other items were absolutely amazing in spite of the economic struggles of many North Iowans. It reminds me of what makes North Iowa so special and why I feel blessed to live here. Our “Little Wishes” contributions were used to ensure that the children and families served by FLYS were able to have a brighter holiday season. Thank you to all of you who put Francis Lauer Youth Services on your holiday list. — Sincerely, Jean McAleer Executive Director Francis Lauer Youth Services

Thank you so very much for the many, many cards, phone calls, gifts and emails we received for our 60th wedding anniversary. It was great to hear from so many people. Thanks and God bless. — Lloyd and Janet Klein
