Ed Buchanan Dec. 10, 1928 to July 29, 2007 Dear Dad, If I could be with you one more day, I often wonder what would I say. I’d tell you of the things I do, and seeing Danielle reminds me of you. Michael and Joshua were born six months to the day the angels came to take you away. Jacob and Emma will be okay; they knew your love before you went away. A new little girl will soon arrive and maybe she’ll have your green eyes.

So Dad, even though you have been gone, your love for us will always live on. Love, Janie and family

Party & Event Planning

In honor of the Bishop family, we commemorate the third anniversary of the passing of Mr. Descome Bishop at age 84, on Aug. 3, 2007. Mr. Loyd and Mrs. Tillie Bishop, his parents, preceded him in death. Still living, with wonderful memories, is his wife, Marlys Bishop. Descome farmed with his father and mother for over 40 years, many of them for Pete Conroy in the Rockwell area, and during this time also worked in construction for Henkel Construction Company and Davey and Moen Construction Company, as a brick tender. He worked for the Local 177 Union and kept 15 brick-layers working. He also worked for the American Crystal Suger Company for campaigns, sacking sugar. He married Marlys Styles on Nov. 5, 1960 at the wedding chapel of the United Methodist Church in Mason City, Iowa. Descome and Marlys would have been married 50 years on Nov. 5, 2010. He has been dearly missed by his family, friends and relatives. His beautiful blue eyes twinkled when he told one of his many jokes. Children always knew he carried Tootsie Rolls in his pocket to pass out to them after a little teasing. He was a great storyteller embellishing past experiences. After he retired at 62, you could still find him running errands or watching the Mark Scholl Standard Station, chatting with the other guys who stopped by. He loved to work outside, especially gardening, winning many awards for his beautiful flowers and plants. He enjoyed his many nieces, nephews and granddaughter. He had a gentle, kind, fun-loving spirit that we all miss especially his wife, Marlys, who knows he is in a better place, but still holds him in her heart with deep love, on this third anniversary of his passing.
