RICEVILLE — The Riceville boys track team may be small in numbers but it is focused on being a successful team. According to fifth-year coach Wade Fridley, who joins 20-year coach Stef Fair, the Wildcats are having several conversations about their team’s strategy for the upcoming season. “One thought would be to have everyone compete in four events each to fill events,” Fridley said. “Another would be to go only with our strengths, and just not fill events we can’t win points at.” Returning athletes who lettered include seniors, Tommy Bauer, Tylar Christensen, Ben Swancutt and Cole Holmen, juniors, Kaleb Tweite and John Miller and sophomore, Ryan Larsen Sophomore. Fridley expects Meskwaki Settlement, North Tama and Colo-NESCO to be the top contenders in the Iowa Star Conference this year.
