Anniversary 50th Anniversary Joseph Nydegger and Linda (Koppen) of Bolan, Iowa, were married April 19, 1964, at the First Presbyterian Church in Lakota, Iowa. They will celebrate their 50th anniversary with a family gathering at a later date.

HAMPTON — Franklin Rural Electric Cooperative (REC) announced its scholarship winners. Three $300 “Commitment to Community” scholarships were awarded by Franklin REC to: Grant Lehmann, son of Brad and Lisa Lehmann, of Iowa Falls, and a student at Iowa Falls-HamptonDumont School; Dillin Hofmeister, son of Dallas and Pat Hofmeister, of Geneva, and a student at AGWSR School, and Ethan Meints, son of Daren and Pam Meints, of Sheffield, a student at West Fork School, Sheffield. Criteria for selection included students’ commitment to their communities by volunteering in organizations or events in the community, church, etc. Students’ parents/ guardians must also be REC members.

Wagner, Hollander Jessica Wagner and Scot Hollander were united in marriage on November 23, 2013, at St. John’s Episcopal Church in Mason City by Rev. Michael Erhard. Jessica is the daughter of Robin and Steve Gooder, and Alan Wagner. Her grandparents are Delores Fike and the late John Fike, and Eugenia Wagner and the late Robert Wagner. Scot’s parents are Julie and Rick Ott, and Randy Demaray. His grandparents are Louise and Pat Patterson, and Barbara Demaray and the late Myron Demaray. Maid of honor was Kristina Birkedal. Jessica’s other attendants were Mellisa Bowling and Cassie Wagner. Best man was Wilton Wiseman. Scot’s other attendants were Derek Kammard and William Wiseman. Ring bearer was Brody Reich, son of the groom. A reception followed at the North Iowa Activity Center. Jessica is employed by Four Oaks of Mason City and Scot is employed by Five Star Co-Op in Rockwell. The couple resides in Rockwell.

Clear Lake Student Receives Service Award CLEAR LAKE — Riley Brinkman, 17, of Clear Lake, and a student at Clear Lake High School, was honored for her exemplary volunteer service with a President’s Volunteer Service Award. The award, which recognizes Americans of all ages, who have volunteered significant amounts of their time to service their communities and their country, was granted by The Prudential Spirit of Community Awards program. Brinkman spent the

past summer in the country of Ecuador serving in multiple ways. She spent one month in Montana training and preparing before traveling to Ecuador for one month. She traveled to many cities in Ecuador serving at churches, orphanages, hospitals, schools, jails and rehab centers. Brinkman has been active in her church, Zion Lutheran Church. She has been on mission trips during spring breaks traveling to Texas and New York, has volunteered for Vacation

Bible School and has filled other various roles. She has also spent time at Clear Creek School volunteering, helping with fundraising efforts for CARES and other community efforts. The Prudential Spirit of Community Awards, sponsored by Prudential Financial in partnership with the National Association of Secondary School Principals (NASSP) recognizes middle level and high school students across America for outstanding volunteer service.

daughter of Diana and Randy Cink. Cink has been active in volleyball, cheerleading, yearbook staff, and the musical. She is a member of the National Honor Society and has been on the honor roll. She plans to attend the University of Minnesota to study health sciences.

Church graduated with a Bachelor of Science in physical education. Worrall graduated cum laude (3.33.59 grade point average), with a Bachelor of Science in exercise/sport studies.
