For all of the phone calls we’ve made to each other singing Happy Birthday..... I miss that. And for the times we’d work on something together and laugh so hard we’d cry.... I miss that. But most of all it was the rides around the lake and just sitting and talking.... I miss that. And I really miss you. Happy Birthday Terry! Gary

Thank You Shanan Redinger finished the Jackson, Miss., marathon on Saturday, Jan. 7, then ran another marathon in Mobile, Ala., the next day to complete her first double marathon weekend (52.4 miles in two days). This was her 33rd marathon in 31 different states since October, 2008. She continues to amaze and inspire those of us lucky enough to be a part of her life. We love you!

As another year has flown by, the Mason City Civil War Council wants to wish everyone a “Happy New Year.” We also want to thank you for your support of our annual event. This past year was a success only because of the many people who donated their time, talent or money to help us, and a few dedicated committee members. There were some challenges this year because of the ongoing improvements to the band shell, but that worked out well, anyway. The 19th annual Reenactment is scheduled to be Sept. 7, 8 and 9. We plan on another whole day for “Kids Day” on Friday, and all the other anticipated events during the weekend. Your support will be greatly appreciated once again. We look forward to sharing some living history with you again in 2012.
