The couple’s children and their spouses are Jack Rayburn (Beth Christensen) of Mankato, Minn.; Gene Rayburn (Judy) of St. Paul, Minn.; Russell Rayburn of Clear Lake, Iowa; and Ann Wall (Dennis) of Des Moines, Iowa. Their grandchildren are Libby Christensen-Rayburn of Santa Cruz, Calif.; and Brian Wall of Des Moines, Iowa.

MANLY — Dean B. Miner and Vicki Wall Miner of Manly, Iowa, were married Jan. 29, 1972, at St. Olaf Lutheran Church in Austin, Minn.

The couple will celebrate their 40th wedding anniversary.

The couple’s children and their spouses are Amy and Dave Navratil of Plymouth, Iowa, and Jason and Joanna Miner of Mason City, Iowa. They have seven grandchildren.

The high school juniors graduated from YIELD, (Youth Investing Energy in Leadership Development), a 15-week partnership program between the Mason City Youth Task Force and the Mason City Chamber of Commerce.

YIELD students developed leadership skills, and conducted a community project focusing on the Mason City Blue Zone application.

Hadley was born with a heart defect that was corrected Dec. 12, 2011. She spent a month in the hospital and was released on Dec. 28, 2011. We would like to thank everyone for their prayers, thoughts and support during this time. Hadley is nearing 2- months and doing great!

AWARDS AND ACHIEVEMENTS Meistersinger Honor Choir Festival ALGONA — Several North Iowa musicians participated in the 2012 Meistersinger Honor Choir Festival on Jan. 14 at Wartburg College in Waverly.

Over 400 musicians from five states took part in the event. The afternoon of rehearsing concluded with a public concert highlighted by a performance from world famous opera singer, Simon Estes.
