BRENT HAGAN, of Evansville, Ind., is the son of Rick and Terri Hagan of Evansville, Ind. Brent graduated from Purdue University with a Bachelor of Science in Organizational Leadership with a focus on Manufacturing Engineering in 2009 , and is employed by Hilex Poly Co. in Indianapolis, Ind. The couple will be married on Saturday, Dec. 7, 2013, at Sundial Resort in Sanibel Island, Fla.

BRITT — Jean Swisher, of Britt, will be celebrating her 80th birthday in November.

SAMUEL QUINTUS, of Albert Lea, Minn., is the son of Steven and Sandra Quintus of Ventura, Iowa.

Samuel graduated from Garner/Hayfield High School in 2001, and the Decorative Finishes Institute Omaha in 2006, and is employed by Quintus Construction in Ventura, Iowa.

The couple will be married at 3 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 23, 2013, at LaCrosse Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses in LaCrosse, Wis. After a honeymoon in Puerto Rico, the couple will reside in Houston, Minn.

Lowell and Marilyn Cook will celebrate Lowell’s 85th birthday and Marilyn’s 80th birthday with an open house at Wesley United Methodist Church, 1405 S. Pennsylvania Ave., in Mason City on Saturday, Nov. 30, from 1:30-3:30 p.m.

Lowell was born Dec. 16, 1928, in Hamburg, Iowa.

Marilyn was born Dec. 22, 1933, in Chicago, Ill. The two were married June 2, 1956, and have lived in Mason City for the last 57 years. Lowell taught junior high science at Roosevelt before teaching Physics and working in administration at NIACC. Marilyn was the accompanist for the NIACC choral department. The ECC inducts students couple retired in 1990.

District auditions for the All-State Band, Orchestra and Chorus were held Oct. 26, at Storm Lake, Hampton, Manchester, Harlan, Indianola and

Fairfield. Approximately 17 percent of the students who audition are selected for membership in the AllState ensembles.

Participants will audition for chair placement Thursday, Nov. 21, in Ames, with all three groups rehearsing on Friday and Saturday, Nov. 22-23. The Festival Concert will be presented to the public at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 23, in Hilton Coliseum, Iowa State University, Ames.

Tickets are $18 each and all seats are reserved.

There are two methods tickets may be obtained for the Iowa All-State Festival Concert: Method 1 — Iowa State Athletic Ticket Office, located on the west side of the Jacobson Athletic Building in Ames. The ticket office is open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Monday through Friday.

There is a $6 per ticket handling fee. Method 2 — Ticketmaster — Orders may be placed by phone at 1-800-745-3000, online at www.ticketmaster.com, or at any Ticketmaster outlet.

Ticketmaster charges a per-ticket convenience fee.

Iowa Public Television will record the concert for re-broadcast. Check the IPTV website: www.iptv.org for exact dates and times.

This program is under the auspices of the Iowa High School Music Association and the Iowa Music Educators Association.
