look beautiful on your wedding day Take steps, like proper skin care, to ensure you look beautiful on your wedding day As the bride, you'll be the center of attention come your wedding day. That's why you spend an eternity looking for the perfect gown and accessories. You want to look flawless for your trip down the aisle and in the photos that will preserve the memory. Looking bridal beautiful doesn't just involve the primping that occurs the day of the wedding. There are steps you should take well in advance of this momentous day to ensure you look your best. Here are skin care and other beauty tips. BRIDAL SKIN CARE * Wedding Prep: With the added stress surrounding your wedding, your skin may pay the price. Additional blemishes, breakouts and damage from tanning could occur. Plus, hours spent planning, running around and not getting a full night's sleep could take their toll as well, resulting in tired, dull skin. In defense, don't just grab any product off the supermarket shelf to revitalize your skin. * Honeymoon: Most honeymoons involve dashing off to tropical ports of call. Your skin is at risk for damage under the blazing rays of the sun. Remember to use a quality sunscreen at all times and cover up your face and head with a wide-brimmed hat.
6
GENERAL BEAUTY TIPS * Hair: Don't make any radical style changes too close to your wedding. If you're thinking about doing a chemical treatment -perming, relaxing or coloring -- do so at least a month in advance so you'll be able to get used to the look and handle any problems, such as breakage or awkward coloring, should they occur. * Teeth: You'll be all smiles at your wedding, so prepare your teeth for their closeup. Consult with your dentist if you want to whiten your smile. He or she can do an in-office procedure to combat discoloring of the teeth. There are also many over-the-counter products available for do-it-yourself whitening. * Body: In an effort to look amazing in their wedding gown, many brides-to-be engage in crash dieting. This is an unhealthy way to shed pounds. Rather, consider revamping your fitness plan a few months prior to the wedding. If budget permits, consult with a trainer to see how you can tone problem areas. A nutritionist can recommend a diet that will be healthy and keep you trim. A happy bride is one who looks and feels her best. One of the best beauty tips is to have fun at your wedding and make memories to last a lifetime.

tradition vs. non-traditional: ways to celebrate a wedding Some couples want to celebrate their weddings in traditional fashion. Others want everything to be unique, new and exciting. Today’s weddings are largely planned, financed and executed entirely by the couple getting married. Therefore, it is up to them how to celebrate their special day. Here’s a look at some of the traditional wedding elements and how they can be shaken up for a different spin.
TRADITIONAL
NON-TRADITIONAL
•Father walks the bride down the aisle
• A son, daughter, friend, or even both parents walk the bride down the aisle. She can also traverse the white carpet solo, if desired. Perhaps the groom meets the bride halfway and they walk the rest of the aisle together
• “The Wedding March (Here Comes the Bride)” plays when the bride enters
• Any favorite classical or modern song is played when the bride enters, as long as it is approved by the venue where the ceremony is taking place
• Something old, new, borrowed, and blue
• Wear all new items, all antique items. Borrow all your wedding day apparel it’s the bride’s choice
• Mother-Son, Father-Daughter dance at the reception
• Welcome everyone present to dance with a special member of their family so all eyes are not on the bride and groom. These dances also can be skipped
• Bouquet toss for the bride and garter toss for the groom
• Toss beads or treats in the style of Mardi Gras to all of the guests, so it’s not only about single men and women
• A three-tiered wedding cake all in white
• Choose cupcakes, a festively colored cake that matches the wedding theme or another desired dessert
• Reception at an alternative site, such as an aquarium, zoo or museum Once a couple thinks about what is important at their wedding, they can cater the event toward their personal interest. Tradition can be followed or they can do something completely unique. • Reception at a catering hall or hotel
