60th anniversary Samuel Swartz and Charlotte Francis, Clear Lake, were married March 12, 1954, at the First Congregational Parsonage in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. They will celebrate with a family gathering in the spring.

ST. ANSGAR — Russell Rosenberg Sr. and Kathryn (Trettin) Rosenberg of St. Ansgar were married March 7, 1954, at Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Grafton. The couple will celebrate their 60th wedding anniversary with a family dinner at a later date.

Haley is the daughter of Randy and Brenda Davis of Mason City, Iowa. Bill is the son of Leon and Helen Harrison of Lakewood, Colorado. The bride’s attendants were Emma and Ella Harrison, daughters of the groom; Jennifer Axtman, sister of the bride; Shallen Smitherman and Erin Linehan, friends of the bride. Groom’s attendants were George and Michael Soulis, brothers of the groom; Nick Davis, brother of the bride; Dale Martin and Justin Miller, friends of the groom. Ushers were Reed Woodford and Jason Fanuele, friends of the couple. Personal attendants were Coty Kline and Ella Bowers, friends of the bride. Eleni Soulis, niece of the groom, attended the guest book. An outdoor reception and dance with live music were held at the McCreery House in Loveland, Colorado. Haley is the Director of Marketing and Care Management for Home Instead Senior Care. Bill practices anesthesiology with Northern Colorado Anesthesia Professionals. The newlyweds reside in Fort Collins, Colorado. They went on an early honeymoon in July to France through Trek Travels and biked in the Pyrenees Mountains during the Tour de France.

Dean’s List honors are accorded Carthage students who achieve a 3.5 grade-point average while carrying at least 14 credit hours during a semester.

Staudt receives Academic Honor STORM LAKE — Jake Staudt, of Forest City, was awarded a full-tuition Trustee Scholarship from Buena Vista University in Storm Lake. This scholarship is only given to five individuals annually.

Military notes Air Force Airman First Class Kyle B. Lutz and Air Force Airman Anthony J. De La Herran graduated from basic military training at Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland, San Antonio, Texas. Airman First Class Lutz is the son of Jessica Voight, of Osage, and Jeff Lutz, of Waverly. He is a 2007 graduate of Osage High School, and received a bachelor’s degree from Iowa State University, Ames, in 2011. Airman De La Herran earned distinction as an honor graduate. He is the son of Jill Pearson, of Mason City, and is a 2013 graduate of Mason City High School. Army Reserve Pvt. Brandon M. Hall and Army National Guard Pvt. Tyler L. Christy graduated from basic infantry training at Fort Benning, Columbus, Ga. Pvt. Hall is the son of Steve Hall and Linda Anderson, both of Mason City. Pvt. Sam was from Hanlontown and Char from rural Clear Lake. They both graduated from Hanlontown High School. They have seven children: Debra Vagstad (Steven), Samuel (Dawn), Patricia Arouni (Sam), William, Jaqueline Folsom (Carl), Scott (deceased) (Tami) and Vickie Jo. The children all live in Minnesota where Sam and Char spent most of their working life. They also have 16 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. They will celebrate with a family gathering in the spring.

recognized by inclusion on the Dean’s List for that semester. Undergraduate students in the Roy J. and Lucille A. Carver College of Medicine may qualify for the Dean’s List with fewer than 12 semester hours of graded credit if deemed appropriate by the college.
