OSAGE — Coaches won’t have any trouble teaching the game of softball to this team as the 2014 season gets under way. A seasoned, solid core of athletes – who also brought home a 12-2 record last year and a North Iowa Conference title – return to the field this season.

Coach Jodi Demuth welcomes back pitcher Cassidy Mohl, and catcher Chandler Banta – both seniors – and classmate and third baseman, Angela Chambers. Joining them will be left fielder Zoey Thompson, a junior, center fielder Jamie Jacobs, also a junior, and sophomore Hannah Huebsch, who switches up time between pitching and infielding.

Others who will see playing time are Amber Schwarting, Kayla Tubbs, Destiny Thompson and Joslyn Perrin. “We are looking forward to a good season,” Demuth said. “And, it should be another interesting battle for the conference title.” She sees the tough opponents in Newman Catholic, Lake Mills and BelmondKlemme.
