Planning for the Jamboree commenced as early as the
beginning of1970,but the technical aspects of this large camp were not considered in detaⅡ

when the problems relating to choice of site became very pressing。 These ear1y preparations for the・ Jamboree were carried by the members of the Jamboree Camp CouncⅡ under the chairmanship of Mr。 H。 C。 Ma, who also was directly involved in the A~ssociation’ s fund raising campaign and therefore Ⅱnk between the technical

In the ear1y part of 1971, it became apparent that to proceed with the site origina11y chosen would entau very heavy expenditure for which funds were insufficient。
For these reasons
and a number of technical considerations, it was decided to accept an offer to use a large prepared site in Castle Peak,
which had been earmarked for development but which was not

young and old, and eventua11y ran comp1etely out of stock in the more popular items。
Midway through the period of the Jamboree,a less severe storm occured which nevertheless required the evacuation of nearly aⅡ the campers to a nearby multiˉ storey residential block
