has been completed. The Scout population has a total of 74,147 members. ln comparison with the 1999 statistics,

there is a growth of over 7%. The number of uniformed has increased by nearly 7'4. This achievement is a direct

Catchment - the Murray Darling Basin. The health of the basin is under threat due to rising salinity and the huge demand for limited water and land resources. When

trees are removed, more water reached the water table and rise through salty rock layers. The water then seeps into water courses making them saltier than

normal or the salt concentrates in the soil after the water evaporates or is taken up by plants.

Bangun Mitra Sejati provides a meeting room called "Rumah Singgah" (a transit house) to facilitate gathering of the unfortunate children to do Scouting activities once a week. Some Scout Leaders

from the local regency near Rumah Singgah shared their Scouting

Gerakan Pramuka Regency Council of East Jakarta in

experiences and skills with the street children to help them develop

coordination with Gerakan Pramuka National Council introduced

positive character, discipline, and strengthen morality. As of

Scouting activities to street children by Bangun Mitra Sejati (a non

December 2000, there are 84 unfortunate street children registered

governmental organisation working with poor street children in East

and accommodated at "Rumah Singgah" located in East Jakarta.
