Advertising feature Support and high achievement at Newent Community School

Newent Community School and Sixth Form Centre is a caring and supportive 11 to 18 mixed comprehensive serving Newent, surrounding villages and, thanks to excellent transport links, Gloucester City, the Forest of Dean and Herefordshire. The school operates dedicated bus services for students living in Gloucester and the Forest of Dean.

It is a high achieving school at the very heart of its community with a strong tradition of academic success within a positive and caring learning environment based upon mutual trust and respect.

It continues to be a ‘Good’ school, confirmed by Ofsted following their visit in March 2018, offering a high quality of education. Its recent observations recognised that Newent Community School’s students are making strong progress in the majority of subjects. In addition it was rightly observed that the students feel - and are - safe, in school. This is achieved by the school’s culture of care and vigilance.

The report is a real vindication of the school’s drive to develop confident, well informed and caring young adults who have self-belief and fully participate in their local, national and international communities. Newent provides a wealth of additional opportunities for students to achieve these aims.

Its next open days are on Tue 5 and Thu 7 October and the school looks Newent principal Rhys Phillips with pupils forward to welcoming parents and prospective pupils to see it in action, take a tour around the facilities and discuss options with Senior Leaders.
