Letter from the Publishers Dear Readers, At a time when hard copy print publications are rapidly disappearing in favor of the ipad, iphone, kindle or whatever the next device may be that replaces print...it’s comforting to know that there are venues that exist where we still cherish the hard copy printed word. You know what we’re talking about...that special time just before the curtain goes up at TPAC, Schermerhorn,The Franklin Theatre and the Martha Rivers Ingram Center for the Performing Arts at Vanderbilt. Clearly the performing arts venue setting is going to be the last bastion for print in America. If you or your company is interested in advertising, please let us know. We offer a very unique advertising package that not only includes all seven Playbill publications listed below, but also our very popular newsstand annual guide, Nashville Arts & Entertainment. We are the only print publisher in Nashville that offers our advertisers newsstand exposure plus the finest venues where you have the confidence in knowing that your advertising message is actually being seen. No fast forwarding, no channel surfing, and no distractions before the curtain goes up...everyone is focused on their Playbill. We are thankful for all our readers and advertisers...couldn’t do it without you! Enjoy the show! cast Jackson nance (Huckleberry Finn)
Jackson is 13 and hails from Hattiesburg, MS. He moved to Nashville as an 8 year old. His parents kept telling him he had a great voice, but he didn’t believe them so they took him to a friend’s house to record him singing thinking that if he could hear what they were hearing, he would believe them. He sang the chorus of “STAY” by Sugarland. Sure nuff, when he heard it played back he said,”Dang, I can sing”. In what was only his 4th public performance ever, he sang “LIGHTS” by Journey and won the 15yrs or younger overall division in a National talent competition. Since then, he has played out anywhere anyone will let him. He’s played in bars, grills, nursing homes, festivals, funerals, and private parties. He’s had the opportunity to sing at Randy Owen’s farm and perform many times with Little Texas and legendary guitarist Reggie Young. It was costing so much to pay a musician every time he sang out, that he decided to learn to play guitar. He found his second love, next only to singing.

aBout studio tenn Studio Tenn Theatre Company was founded in the fall of 2009 by nationally recognized director and artist Matt Logan, Emmy Award winning producer Philip Hall and broadway and film actress Marguerite Lowell Hall. The company’s inaugural production of Thorton Wilder’s Our Town was an enormous success and enough to convince Studio Tenn’s founders that this was something which could continue! Shortly thereafter Jake Speck left the broadway cast of Jersey Boys to join Studio Tenn as its Managing Director. Together, Speck and Logan produced Studio Tenn’s first two seasons to much critical acclaim and are thrilled to be continuing their work as the resident professional theatre company of the franklin Theatre! Studio Tenn is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization and we cannot operate without the generous support of our sponsors and donors! It is the mission of Studio Tenn to use a rich combination of talent from Nashville and broadway to bring classic works of drama and musical theatre to life in Middle Tennessee; and, to provide innovative educational programs designed to entertain, educate, and inspire the rising artists of our unique community. If you would like more information on how you can donate, sponsor or get involved please visit our website at www.studiotenn.com or email info@studiotenn.com.
aBout tHe Franklin tHeatre built in 1937, the legendary franklin Theatre re-opened in June 2011 following a four-year multi-milliondollar restoration spearheaded by the Heritage foundation of franklin & Williamson County. The 300seat theater resumed the tradition of showing current-run and classic movies, and added live music to its repertoire as well as professional live theatre in partnership with Studio Tenn. for more information about the franklin Theatre, go to www.franklintheatre.com
