SLEEP WITH THE SOY SAUCE.

There’s a better way to save money. Instead of finding comfort in your refrigerator, check the insulation in your attic. Since the greatest loss of cool air is through the roof, proper insulation here will make a big difference in your bill, and even pay for itself over time. A Note from the Artistic Director Welcome to CINDERELLA To quote our Fairy Godmother, “Impossible things are happening every day!” Today we welcome all of you to the Studio Tenn family. Whether you are here with us for the first time or you are a longtime season subscriber, sponsor, or donor, you are the true stars of the Studio Tenn world and we thank you for your invaluable support. Studio Tenn is the only resident professional theater company in Williamson County, and without the dedication you show us, we could not fulfill our nonprofit mission of enriching the community through thrilling performances and the exciting new ventures that our Managing Director, Todd Morgan, and I have in store. We are in the process of revisioning Studio Tenn while still honoring the signature brand that has made Studio Tenn a theatrical staple throughout Middle Tennessee. Stay tuned for an arts/education immersion program designed for kids and teens who love to act, sing, and dance. Who will be the next young Studio Tenn star? S ince this is my first show with Studio Tenn as its Artistic Director, I would like to formally introduce myself. My name is Patrick Cassidy and I am thrilled to be joining the incredible team at Studio Tenn as well as becoming one of Franklin’s proudest residents along with my wife, Melissa Hurley Cassidy. As a performing artist, I have been singing, directing, and producing for the past 40 years; I have performed in venues from Broadway and Vegas to regional theater, television, and film. My mother is the celebrated Oscar winner, Shirley Jones, my dad is the late Tony winner, Jack Cassidy and my brothers are Shaun Cassidy, Ryan Cassidy, and the late great David Cassidy. Now to the show at hand - CINDERELLA was originally broadcast on television in 1957 starring Julie Andrews in the title role. It was seen by 107 million people, 60% of the country’s population at that time. In 1965, Rodgers & Hammerstein once again produced the musical fairy tale for television and this time, Leslie Ann Warren attended the prince’s ball. It wasn’t until 2013 that CINDERELLA finally arrived on Broadway earning 9 Tony Nominations and winning the coveted award for costumes. This production of CINDERELLA marks the 51st production for Studio Tenn as well as my 1st. My hope is that this is the 1st of many more to come. So, as we move forward into the next decade, may all our impossible dreams come true. I know mine have. I’m the Artistic Director of Studio Tenn! Gratefully,

Patrick Cassidy

PROGRAMMING The Salon by Pipeline-Collective

The Salon is a biweekly gathering of playwrights, directors, and actors to shape theatrical works-inprogress curated by Pipeline-Collective’s Producing Artistic Directors David Ian Lee and Karen Sternberg, along with Studio Tenn’s Associate Artistic Director Benji Kern. Each three-hour session is designed to bring together all collaborators, exploring new relationships and furthering the development of new, visceral theatrical work. At The Salon, playwrights can maintain the momentum of their writing and hear pages aloud at regular intervals – a critical component of new play development – while directors and actors can work “on their feet,” investigating new texts and partnerships in a model more accommodating than the constraints of an audition or the product-based needs of a rehearsal hall. The Salon is a free program and is welcoming of artists from all backgrounds. For more information, visit pipeline-collective.com/the-salon

Studio Tenn and Backlight Productions: New Works Writer’s Lab

Studio Tenn Theater Company and Backlight Productions are collaborating to create and workshop a new play for artists with special needs! Led by Associate Artistic Director Benji Kern and Backlight Production Artistic Director Melissa Smith, the play will cover the themes of celebrating the perspective of artists with special needs in this world premiere.
