supporting the arts in nashville for over 20 years.
Letter from the Publishers One of our favorite quotes is from Kathleen O’Brien, CEO/President of TPAC: “We need the arts. They are not a luxury. They make us better people and they are at the core of strong, vibrant communities.” The city of Franklin has experienced this quote first hand over the past year with the arrival of Studio Tenn Theatre Company. With an exciting new season offering including: Smokey Joe’s Cafe,Twelve Angry Men, A Christmas Carol, Big River and My Fair Lady...Studio Tenn continues to bring a taste of Broadway to Franklin. Franklin indeed is a more vibrant city with the cultural addition of Studio Tenn. However, as is true with most artistic endeavors, Studio Tenn is a 501c3, and relies heavily on donors and the local support of area businesses through sponsorships. As you enjoy tonight’s production of The Sound of Music, please take a moment to consider how your company will benefit by creating a marketing partnership with Studio Tenn. To learn more about sponsorship opportunities and advertising benefits of the Studio Tenn “Playbill”, please give us a call at 373-5557.

ABOUT STUDIO TENN Studio Tenn Theatre company was founded in the Fall of 2009 by Nationally recognized director and artist Matt Logan, Emmy Award winning producer Philip Hall and Broadway and Film actress Marguerite Lowell Hall. The company’s inaugural production of Thorton Wilder’s Our Town was an enormous success and enough to convince Studio Tenn’s founders that this was something which could continue! Shortly thereafter Jake Speck left the Broadway production of Jersey Boys where he played the lead role of Bob Gaudio, to join Studio Tenn as its Managing Director. Together, Speck and Logan produced Studio Tenn’s first full season to much critical acclaim in 2010 and 2011 and are thrilled to be continuing their work as the resident theatre company of the Franklin Theatre! Studio Tenn is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization and we cannot operate without the generous support of our sponsors and donors! It is the mission of Studio Tenn to use a rich combination of talent from Nashville and Broadway to bring classic works of drama and musical theatre to life in Middle Tennessee; and, to provide innovative educational programs designed to entertain, educate, and inspire the rising artists of our unique community. If you would like more information on how you can donate, sponsor or get involved please visit our website at www.studiotenn.com or email info@studiotenn.com.

JAKE SPECK
EXECUTIVE PRODUCER / MANAGING DIRECTOR Jake moved back to his hometown of Nashville in 2010 after completing a 2 year run on Broadway in the multiple Tony Award winning musical Jersey Boys. Most recently Jake played Steve in the ABC/Lionsgate pilot Nashville which has just been picked up and is going to series! After a decorated high school career and a couple of years spent performing locally in Nashville and singing with the group Nickajack (Developmental record deal, Asylum Records) Jake moved to New York City, having been awarded the highest national scholarship offered by the American Musical and Dramatic Academy. Since graduating from AMDA in October 2003 Jake has worked with Tony Award and Pulitzer Prize winning lyricist Sheldon Harnick (Fiddler On The Roof), Two-time Tony Award winning director Des McAnuff (Big River, The Who’s Tommy, Jersey Boys), Academy Award winning writer Marshall Brickman (Annie Hall) and five time Tony Award winning director and choreographer Susan Stroman (The Producers). Mr. Speck’s professional career has taken him across the country performing in such shows as Kiss Me Kate, Thoroughly Modern Millie, Forever Plaid, The Melville Boys and many more. In 2005 Jake appeared in the film version of Mel Brooks’ hit musical The Producers. With Jersey Boys Mr. Speck has performed live on the Emmy Awards, the Tony Awards, at the Taste of Chicago festival, sang the 7th Inning Stretch at Wrigley Field, performed on the steps of city hall for the World Series Champion New York Yankees and was one of four Broadway cast members invited to the White House to perform for the President. It is the fulfillment of a lifelong dream to return to Nashville and create a theatre company in the city that inspired him to make the arts his life’s work. Thanks and love to Emily, Nash & Noah!
MATT LOGAN

You support the arts
we support the artist Robert sings. He sings because it makes people happy, something he tries to do everyday. Robert is also blind. When you give to Goodwill, you give Robert a reason to sing. The simple act of donating the things that you no longer need means job training and opportunities for thousands of Tennesseans who have difficulty finding employment. Donate Today and Change a Life.
