International Festival Videomapping Indoor Starting with this quote by F. Bacon the “Associazione Primitivi Digitali “ and gloWArp will bring light and its artistic qualities on the cultural property helding from the 19th of April to the 21st of the same month their second edition of the GLOWFestival an international festival focused on a particular type of augmented reality, the art of “Video Mapping”, applied on public spaces. This edition 2014 will take place in the city of Ostuni. This year there will be a great new entry, unique in its own style; to give value to almost the entire indoor cultural properties of the city aiming to fascinate the gaze of the viewers thanks to video mapping. This is the chance to share with everybody the spectacular visual communication potentialities of augmented reality, thanks to its great quality of turning any surface in a dynamic display creating an illusory flux of visual narratives that shift very much the conceptual and aesthetic point of view in function of the location and by its history.

Civic Museum of Ostuni at Church of St. Vito Martire Brief Historical The church of St. Vito Martire became in 1989 the Civic Museum of OStuni, together with the adjacent convent of cloistered Carmelitane nuns, the only true example of a rocaille in Ostuni. The temple, built between 1752 and 1754 on a project commissioned in Naples, was consecrated in 1756 by Bishop Francesco Antonio Scoppa (1747-1782). With the subversion of the ecclesiastical and the suppression of religious orders, it would have been acquired by the civic administration in 1905. Altars were made by Francesco Morgese in 1763. Fits in this context, the colorfulness of the apse where the altar three steps has yellow and gray backgrounds that simulate colored marbles. At the two extremes are the del’latare plastic representations of St. Teresa of Avila and St. Maria Magdalene de ‘Pazzi.

Video: Reflexio Synopsis: The deepened dimension of the mystery of reality, which we will never know in our finite world of meanings and symbols. Bouncing in the rays of light, we form a history of places and spaces that affect us every day with a reflection of reproducibility. Recurrence is the key to Reflexio Lucis. CLICK HERE TO SEE VIDEO
2 # Second Place Millumin - Single License
Visual Skin (Romania)
Video: Woja Synopsis: There is so much we still do not know. We explain it through science and fill in the blanks with spirituality. Therefore, my submission is a celebration of mankind, based on texts from A Short History of Nearly Everything by Bill Bryson and The Bible. Using custom-made 3D effects, kynetic typography and CC artwork as textures, I have put together a playful animation which respects the sacrality of the church. The soundtrack consists of audiobooks, stock sounds and a public recording of the Teleenciclopedia. CLICK HERE TO SEE VIDEO

Name: 303 Una vicenda epica Synopsis: The performance is focused on the events experienced by St. Vitus, historical figure, who characterized the fourth century. I did a research on the life of this real figure, and I was struck by some details of his life during the 303d.c. I chose to recall a few of these details on the church’s surface dedicated to him. Dual Bit (Italy)
Video: Omnia ab uno Synopsis: We define “chaos” every jumble of elements or phenomena that we can not define its cause, consequence and evolution; for which we use the latter word to indicate an event that occurs in a completely uncontrollable. But this is by no means inconceivable randomness as lack of content, but as the yet to be opened the world’s first of its established institution and defined. A complex order that escapes the human perception but not messy. CLICK HERE TO SEE VIDEO

Video: The signal are in the particles Synopsis: Particles are the basic building blocks for everything in our world. Our concept was to show their remakrable life, how they come together and build up a surface, how fluid they are, how yeasty they are. In our animation the surface transforms into many different shapes, falls apart and comes back together, all starting and ending with one single particle. CLICK HERE TO SEE VIDEO

Kei Kitamura (Japan)
Video: Coexistence Synopsis: As a Japanese person, when considering how to approach working with an Italian church, my first thought was that Japan and Italy,or Ancient Rome have a shared quality in how they absorbed elements of external cultures and made them their own. I felt that I’d like to transform the collision which occurs when foreign cultures meet into something more constructive, where both sides move and adapt to one another. I wanted to find forms of coexistence. My piece was created with this idea in mind. CLICK HERE THE VIDEO

Project Pixel (Australia)
Video: Memento Mori Synopsis: Death is recognised as a universal human experience that effects everyone regardless of race, gender or class. In this piece digital stop motion collages made from photographs of taxidermy and illustrations remind us that our time on this planet is only fleeting and is an inevitable event that we cannot escape. Video e Visual Style (Italy)
Video: Emerald Place Synopsis: A personal reinterpretation of the Emerald City from the Wizard of Oz story. The first part of the video shows, in a symbolic key, the construction of this enchanted place, made by gold, gems, emeralds and crystals. Everything is idyllic and sunny here. The second part, instead, is about the hidden and obscure “Emerald Place: the appearance is only a visual illusion. The shine hides all the damages and the degradation created. CLICK HERE THE VIDEO

Fuorilumen (Italy)
Video: The future of the past Synopsis: In ancient times relied their hopes to the gods, replaced by technology that has allowed us to reject the metaphysical unconscious that would become their new deity monstrous-looking. Our company believed to live in an eternal present; face of the horrors of the 900, you might even agree with that character of Joyce’s Ulysses to which history and the nightmare from which waking up. But if the alternative is surrender to contemporaneity, the history is lesser nightmare. CLICK HERE THE VIDEO
