WUD Publications Committee Mentorship Program

!

“We discussed my resume and an internship and how the connections of such an internship would better prepare me for a career in library science-the career I hope to pursue. -Caelin Ross, UW senior

Our mentors are professionals in the publications field who are largely professors, journalists, and directors at various publication institutions. Mentors work with UW students in the WUD Publications Committee to review resumes, discuss internship possibilities, review writing and talk about career options in their desired field. Mentors can volunteer for one academic semester or an entire year and are paired with a student with similar career interests. The commitment is small, just one hour once a month!

information ! !

The mentees are UW students from the WUD Publications Committee who are looking for more professional experience and guidance in the publications field. They are paired with mentors with similar professional interests to have questions answered and their confidence and abilities strengthened. Students meet with their mentors at least once a month for one semester during the academic year and will gain helpful and beneficial advice from their mentors!
