As a Vegas resident for more than a decade, Lewis loves to explore the city on his time off and report back his findings to family, friends and his guests. Lewis offered up some advice and tips on the city for VEGAS2GO readers.

What are some highlights of your property? The biggest highlight of Polo Towers is that we are one of the only “vacation ownership resorts” in the heart of the Strip. This allows families with children a place to stay that has a full kitchen, child-friendly amenities and a quiet place to relax while providing all of the excitement and spectacular views of being on Las Vegas Boulevard. What is one of the best-kept secrets of Las Vegas? The best-kept secret of Las Vegas is that there is more to it than just the Strip. We have such amazing, diverse cultures that if you are not taking time to explore the entire area you are missing out on great experiences, dining and people. Anything new that a tourist should definitely know about? As a local I am most excited about the T-Mobile Arena and all of the excitement of The Park. The fact that we now have our first major professional sports team is exciting and shows just how big Las Vegas has grown. What are some great ways to beat the heat? The best way to beat the heat in Las Vegas is to avoid it. Try to plan indoor activities during the day and do your sightseeing early in the morning or after the sun goes down. For people with families, Wet’n’Wild and Cowabunga Bay are great options.

What are some things visitors can do in Las Vegas on a budget? If visitors are looking for more cost-friendly things to do in Las Vegas, the best bet is to get away from the Strip a visit the local casinos for buffets and dining options. Talking to your resort concierge and taking advantage of the Tix4Tonight and half-priced tickets will also help your money go much further. Then there is always one of the many vacation-ownership companies like Diamond Resorts that offer amazing gifts and experiences for viewing their properties. What is a service you provide that most people would not think of? Where can visitors find family-oriented entertainment? Movie nights at Downtown Summerlin are fun for families with kids during the summer. Ethel M’s Chocolate Factory and Pole Position Raceway are also fun places to visit. What is your idea of the most romantic spot in Vegas? The most romantic spot in Las Vegas would be a peaceful trip up to Mt. Charleston Hotel. For a romantic dinner my go-to restaurant of choice would be Carnevino at The Palazzo for the dry-aged, bone-in ribeye for two.
