Given the Thanksgiving holiday this week, it seems appropriate to dedicate this issue of Las Vegas Magazine to what we’re all thankful for. Because let’s face it: This has been a rough year. And we can never forget the importance of focusing on the positives in life; it’s a big part of what keeps us all going. So while we all acknowledge that the world can be pretty unforgiving, it’s also one full of wonder. On the following pages, you’re going to find plenty that will make you stop, smile and temporarily forget the real world: • Entertainment. David Copperfield, one of the Strip’s longest-running performers at MGM Grand, is planning a global event that might just top all his previous feats: Making the moon disappear (“Lunar Eclipse,” p. 34); Virgin Hotels Las Vegas has launched a new burlesque show, Lady Like (“Bombshell Beauties,” p. 21); And Treasure Island, full of great shows and attractions, celebrates its 30th anniversary this month (“Success Marks the Spot,” p. 32). • Dining. The options are endless, from the Tuscan excellence of Brezza at Resorts World Las Vegas (“Italian Essence,” p. 12) and the Asian flair of Mott 32 at The Venetian (“Take a Tour,” p. 28) to the stunning pastries being created at Dominique Ansel Las Vegas at Caesars Palace (“The Cronut Connection,” p. 38). And for those of you looking for a great Thanksgiving feast, we’ve rounded up some of the best options in town (“Gather ’Round the Table,” p. 40). • Just out-and-out fun. Associate editor Kiko Miyasato has assembled some of the more hilarious snippets she’s overheard from visitors over the last few months (“Say What?!” p. 36). By the way, in case you’re wondering what we’re thankful for, that’s easy: You, for making this town what it is.

Italian Essence Elegant eatery offers inspired flavors

Brezza might be my favorite restaurant in Las Vegas; although, truth to tell, I have many that run a very close second. With chef and co-owner Nicole Brisson guiding the staff, everything from service to dishes is friendly and delicious. Brisson is a well-known name in the Vegas culinary scene and used her experiences in Italy to inform the varied, delightful menu. The restaurant itself exudes a casual elegance, with stonework on one wall, the bar opposite and a pretty patio stretched across the far end. You may want a cocktail or glass of wine, and boy, does Brezza have you covered there. Not only are there several sommeliers on staff, but the beverage menu itself is a small book (with a table of contents). Getting a glass or a full pairing couldn’t be easier. You’ll find a tidy lunch menu if you want to dine on the patio (and Vegas is significantly warmer than much of the U.S. at this time of year). For dinner, you’ll want an appetizer such as the heirloom tomato caprese, where buffalo mozzarella and a variety of tomatoes are centered around preserved tomato. Charred octopus with gigante beans and steamed clams with peas and tomato are other popular choices, and for good reason. Pasta includes the cappellacci oreganata, a pocket pasta with cauliflower, spinach, capers, garlic and lemon; rigatoni arrabbiata with basil and cherry tomatoes; and herb pappardelle with lamb ragu. For your entrée, indulge in braised short rib; whole branzino; Heritage Farms pork T-bone or a dry-aged steak—choose from 100day, 120-day or 170-day varieties. There are a number of sauces and supplements available, from aqua pazza to ’nduja bay scallops. The mascarpone mashed potatoes are served with a poached egg, guanciale and pickled peppers. It’s definitely a side worth ordering. Close out with an amaro or dessert like the lemon olio verde tart (filled with lemon curd and covered with a large “B”), house-made cannoli, or tiramisu. –Nina King Resorts World Las Vegas. 702.676.6014

Time Travel

Embark on a historical journey to ancient Egypt Imagine it’s the year 5387 A.D. Archaeologists make a dramatic discovery in the American Southwest, where the Luxor pyramid in The Entertainment Capital of the World was unearthed and found to have a perfectly preserved mezzanine level. They find an Atrium Showroom, guarded by the beautiful Fantasy showgirls and where a mischievous deity named Carrot Top maintained a collection of sacred amusing artifacts. Even after stumbling upon those riches, they are unprepared for the wealth of relics that lay ahead as they explore the chambers inside Discovering King Tut’s Tomb— The Experience. Of the 64 monarchs of Egypt’s New Kingdom buried in the Valley of the Kings, only Tutankhamun’s tomb was left undisturbed by looters. King Tut died young, reigning for roughly 10 years, but images of his likeness are some of the most iconic visual representations of Ancient Egypt. A largescale representation of his 3,000-year-old golden death mask above the entrance makes locating the attraction effortless for contemporary explorers. A re-creation of a wood statue covered in resin and gold that guarded the burial chamber provides the first life-sized effigy of the 18th dynasty ruler. The statue wears a nemes headdress, the striped cloth couture worn by pharaohs of Egypt’s Old and New Kingdoms made easily recognizable to viewers of Hollywood films. Some artifacts are simple home items. Drinking vessels, tableware and bowls are included along with statues, statuettes and carvings that would have been common items of domestic décor. Sandals and walking sticks the crippled king could have used are part of the collection, as well as a crook and flail that a royal would have held to the chest as a symbol of authority. Replications of Tut’s three nested golden coffins and his golden shrine provides climactic dazzle to Imagine Exhibitions’ homage to an archaeological wonder that went undiscovered for 3,000 years and can now be part of anyone’s rediscovery of Las Vegas in general, and Luxor in particular. Enter Discovering King Tut’s Tomb—The Experience, and modern life is left behind with little danger of disturbing an actual mummy or becoming the recipient of a resulting curse. –Matt Kelemen

Sweet Sparkle

Holiday classic celebrates 30 delicious years

One of the most joyful experiences around for Las Vegas visitors and locals alike is a tour through Ethel M Chocolates Factory & Cactus Garden for a look at how the delicious concoctions are made. And each year in November and December, the factory and flagship store hosts its Holiday Cactus Garden Lights celebration. Not only can guests tour multiple paths lit with colorful lights and seasonal armature, but they can also visit Santa and sip on hot chocolate from 5-10 p.m. through Dec. 31. And this year, good boys and

girls can grab a bite from the Garden Café food truck, which offers chocolate-dipping demonstrations as well. In addition, a new bar experience will serve cocktails and mocktails for purchase. For older boys and girls, Holiday Tasting Experience chocolate and wine pairings occur nightly (5:30 p.m., 7 p.m. and 8:30 p.m.), with four seasonal, nut-free choices, each accompanied with a tasty wine. Chocolate-only tasting is $30; with wine it is $40 (21+, of course), which means other benefits such as free admission and

front-of-the-line access. Daily, Ethel M also offers a chocolate and wine pairing. (10:30 and 11:30 a.m., 1, 2:30 p.m. and 4 p.m.) Chocolate-only tasting is $25; with wine it is $35 (21+). There is a $2 charge per person for entry to the Holiday Cactus Garden Lights. However, that benefits two local charities: Three Square Food Bank and HELP of Southern Nevada. –Nina King 2 Cactus Garden Drive, Henderson, Nev. 800.438.4356

Clock In

Get special access to this surreal supermarket Las Vegas offers plenty of adventures and immersive attractions, but few provide opportunities to experience being an employee. Becoming a casino dealer requires education and verification. Chefs must have culinary experience, while DJs need some kind of proof that they can raise the roof. To become a temporary employee of Omega Mart, a subsidiary of the Dram corporation, one only needs a Boop Card. Boop Cards are purchasable upon entry to the innocuous-looking grocery store inside the main mall of AREA15, the immersive entertainment district west of the Strip. No training is required for the Omega Access Cards that are keys to stations throughout the premises, although saying “Boop!” while inserting them is encouraged. On-the-job training, company confidential data and authorization to use restricted equipment are just some of the privileges that come with a “Boop Card.” Learn to soothe, deflect and redirect dissatisfied customers with Omega Attitude. It also provides an introduction to the Dram family. More about the enigmatic owners of Omega Mart can be discovered via semi-hidden passages to the labyrinth-like corporate headquarters. This is where Omega Mart becomes interactive Mega Art. The stairs lead to an employee break room where one can be bestowed with “Employee of the Moment” status before discovering a passageway to corporate headquarters and research and development areas. If a phone rings, answer it. If a computer keyboard lies in front of a desktop monitor, type a few keystrokes. There are many signs of reclusive (or missing?) corporate head Walter Dram’s presence, as well as his daughter and heir-apparent Cecelia. Bits of information can become clues to what appears to be a conspiracy involving the Dram family. Check the file cabinets in the Herman Resources department for translucent plates that slide into a hard drive and give deep background on personnel. By the end of the experience, it should be self-evident whether one has what it takes to live the Dram Dream. –Matt Kelemen

Latest Madame Tussauds wax figure is the most tatted in the attraction’s history There have been many Madame Tussauds wax figures produced over the decades. And while each one is obviously unique, the most recent one unveiled at the Las Vegas location has its own claim to fame: It is the most tattooed figure in Madame Tussauds’ history. Pay a visit and get your picture with one of the greatest drummers in rock ‘n’ roll: Travis Barker. A collaboration between Barker and Tussauds—not only did the Blink-182 drummer let the creative team take

hundreds of precise measurements of his face and body, and 3D scans of his more than 100 tattoos—the figure is clothed in a wardrobe supplied by Barker himself: An all-black outfit, including a leather jacket, boots, pants and a studded belt, accentuated by silver jewelry—nose rings, chain necklace and replicated wedding ring (Barker is married to Kourtney Kardashian, who also has a Madame Tussauds wax figure). Given the importance of Barker’s tattoos, it took the team nine weeks

to stencil and color Barker’s head and seven weeks for his body. But the results? Barker said it best: “I’m honored. I’m flattered, I’m shocked. It looks so (expletive) real!” Barker joins a distinguished cast of figures you can currently see in Las Vegas, including Bad Bunny, Dwayne Johnson and Megan Thee Stallion. –Ken Miller The Grand Canal Shoppes at The Venetian, 702.862.7800

INTO OMEGA MART THE MIND-BENDING WORLD OF LAS VEGAS’ MEOW WOLF OUTPOST

THE EXPERIENCE

Described as “America’s most exceptional grocery store,” walking into Omega Mart is the beginning of an adventure. “At Meow Wolf, we like to introduce visitors to our permanent exhibitions in a way that’s familiar, whether that be a seemingly average neighborhood home—as with the House of Eternal Return in Santa Fe— or a grocery store like we have with Omega Mart,” Olsen said. “From there, we present opportunities to expand one’s way of thinking, and new ways to experience otherwise average tasks and processes through the exploration of creative narratives.” As soon as you drop into Omega Mart, other exhibits come into focus, with four main anchor spaces in the exhibit.

+

Putting your finger on Meow Wolf’s Omega Mart is nearly impossible. It’s a transportive, maximalist art installation, rooted in the foundation of a dense, explorative narrative. It’s a place to play and a place to study. It’s the anchor experience at Area15 and Meow Wolf’s largest installation to date, totaling 52,000 square feet. Omega Mart’s art director, Spencer Olsen, describes it as “a psychedelic sci-fi mystery that invites you to investigate as an in-world participant … or a big, fun, explorable art exhibit!” It’s utopian and somewhat dystopian. It’s an experience that refuses to be pinned down—one in which you’re allowed to stumble into a world that’s adjacent to yours, but also lightyears away. Here’s a topline look at the multidimensional environments that beg to be explored, and then explored again.

THE STORY

As you travel through Omega Mart, a rich and complex narrative begins to develop using audio, video and print media. The timeline of the story goes back hundreds of thousands of years, and breadcrumbs are scattered throughout the exhibit for visitors to uncover. Olsen recommends taking notes. “Everything is there for a reason, and we tried to add a lot of continuity so you can learn about something you find in one location elsewhere as you explore. If you think something might be a clue, take a picture.”

Pro tip: Ask an Omega Mart employee about the VIP Package to enhance your experience.

C RE ATED A ND PRES ENTED BY MEOW WO LF Omega Mart is stocked with fun and uncommon products to explore— all with the uncanny ability to fulfill shoppers’ desires.

IS IT SIMILAR TO THE HOUSE OF ETERNAL RETURN IN SANTA FE AND CONVERGENCE STATION IN DENVER? Yes and no, but you’ll have to dive in to find out. “For the narrative deep divers, there are similarities,” Olsen said. “They are completely different artistically and experientially, but there is an underlying sub-fiction in stories about groups and entities with the ability to travel between worlds. There will be more revealed around these relationships between the stories in Denver and other future exhibits.”

SPACES WITHIN SPACES DRAMCORP OFFICES

Dramcorp is the parent company to Omega Mart, and as you’ll soon find out, it’s hiding a secret.

Within each anchor space, there is an everunfolding cast of unique experiences, and choosing a favorite may be impossible. “It’s hard to pick one [favorite experience], so I’ll pick some distinct ones,” Olsen said. “Pulse, by Claudia Bueno, achieves something remarkable. I’ve heard someone describe it as ‘healing,’ which is as good of an experience as I can think of. Uploaded Ghosts, by Stephen Hendee, with musical collaboration by Beach House, feels like the artistic and emotional summit of the show,” Olsen said.

The Green Tea is L.A. Comedy Club’s signature cocktail, mixed with Jameson Irish whiskey, peach schnapps, sweet and sour mix, and a splash of Sprite. It’s served in a shooter cup. Giving good energy to go with some good comedy You’ll already be laughing when you attend a show at L.A. Comedy Club at The STRAT, but thanks to bartender Montie Michel, you’ll also be smiling. The San Diego native has a friendly disposition from the moment you meet him, and it shines through when he’s behind the bar. “I enjoy meeting people,” Michel says. “I try to give out good energy. When you come up to my bar, you can be having a bad day and I’ll give you a drink and you’ll start feeling better.” Michel moved to Las Vegas when he was 19 years old, but as soon as he

turned 21 he decided to try his hand at bartending. After a brief stint at Hard Rock Café on the Strip, he joined L.A. Comedy Club; eight years later he couldn’t be happier. “I’m very grateful working with this club,” he says. “I feel like I’m part of a family here. … On top of it, man, I get to watch comedy!” Michel boasts, humbly though, that he’s a fast bartender—that’s his thing. And he loves the pressure of a line of people and making sure everyone get a cocktail before the show starts. “I love how chaotic it is sometimes,” he says.

“When I have people in line and I have to get everyone their drinks, man, I go after it! I acknowledge everyone, though. I don’t work people for tips. I want to give people good service no matter what.” On his time off, Michel spreads his good cheer around the Arts District; you can see him riding on his electric scooter and checking out the local bars. And one day, he says, he sees himself running his own bar. “You have to have good energy to be a good bartender,” Michel says. “It’s all about that good energy.” –Kiko Miyasato

celebrates the many cultures of China Few cuisines bring people together quite like Chinese food. Sure, it’s fun to get takeout, but the experience gets bumped up to 11 when you’re sitting around a table and using the lazy Susan to grab its latest tasty treat. Las Vegas has more than its fair share of such experiences, but it’s hard to imagine the concept being done better than at Mott 32; we almost guarantee at least a few genuine surprises for even the most well-traveled Chinese food fan. The restaurant’s name is a tribute to 32 Mott Street in New York, the site of the city’s first Chinese convenience store. And, as you’ll soon discover by looking at the menu, this establishment has a bit of everything, celebrating Cantonese, Szechuan and Beijing cultures. As you take your seat in the ornately decorated space, you’ll feel transported to another culture almost instantly. Glass, wood and light are all used to maximum effect here. Wherever you choose to sit, definitely check out the signature cocktails here first, from the Five O’Clock in Hong Kong, made with Beattie’s potato vodka, rose liqueur, lemon, orange sherbet, strawberry jam and orange bitters, to the Jade Apple, a blend of Ketel One Grapefruit and Rose with sour apple, honeydew, and cherry tomato tanghulu. The starters here are all memorable. You wouldn’t ordinarily think an appetizer of marinated cucumber and garlic would be anything special, but at a recent meal I could not stop eating these. It’s the Mott 32 touch, which is present in every single item. Dim sum is well represented here as well, from traditional Iberico pork Shanghainese

soup dumplings to soft quail egg siu mai, served with Iberico pork and black truffle. Starters are plentiful. The signature smoked black cod is a popular item, and you’ll realize why the second your chopsticks pierce the succulent seafood. If you really want to splurge, try the braised whole Japanese dried abalone with oyster sauce. It’s an absolute revelation. As you can guess, Peking duck is a real standout here, and yes, you will have to pre-order, but trust us, this version is more than worth the anticipation. It’s smoked with dried applewood and roasted fresh when your party arrives (this sumptuous feast serves three to four people). You’ll also get freshly steamed pancakes, thinly sliced cucumber and scallions, raw

cane sugar and house-made special hoisin sauce. Mott 32’s unique carving technique guarantees the maximum amount of juiciness in every bite. Another duck option is the braised version with ginger. And the minced pork adds extra dimension to a wokfried oyster omelette. Here’s a bonus: Mott 32 features a plant-based menu, with Shanghainese soup dumplings with “pork” and tofu to crispy “chicken” with Szechuan red peppercorns and cashews. Desserts are presented with flair. You’ll want to take the camera out before digging into delights like rose and Valrhona white chocolate panna cotta with lychee sorbet and raspberries, and pomelo grapefruit and honeycomb, served with coconut ice cream.

After 30 years, Treasure Island continues to offer visitors a well-rounded experience Although the iconic pirate ship that once set sail nightly in front of the hotel along the Strip has permanently docked, the siren call still beckons Las Vegas visitors to explore the many jewels at Treasure Island. And with TI recently celebrating its 30th anniversary, now is the perfect time to revisit the gems you can experience throughout the property. Along with opening its doors in 1993, TI was the first Las Vegas hotel-casino to house a Cirque du Soleil show. Thirty years and 13,000 shows later, Mystère continues to reign, welcoming more than 17 million guests to enjoy a combination of circus arts, music and a visual feast of costuming and props. With the movie franchise mania over Marvel, TI captures the cinematic phenomenon in unique fashion with its long-running attraction Marvel Avengers S.T.A.T.I.O.N. Fans can completely immerse themselves in the Marvel universe with interactive exhibits, movie props, deep dives into the many characters and a retail store with keepsakes, clothing, accessories and toys.

When it comes to relaxation, TI comes through with its recently remodeled Oleksandra Spa & Salon. Not only is the intimate spa an ethe-

real space with amenities for pure relaxation (like the sauna, Jacuzzi and comfy lounge area), the staff is also second to none—some of the most professional, accommodating and welcoming staff you’ll experience at a spa. The services run the gamut from massage, facials and salon services to full body treatments and unique

services like a Russian banya and detoxifying treatment. When it comes to food, Treasure Island covers all appetites. Might we suggest The Coffee Shop? Tucked away near the front lobby, this eatery might often be a bit hidden, but, man, do they have good food—especially breakfast items like pancakes and waffles, sandwiches, and biscuits and gravy. And all of the pastries are made in-house. Fine dining continues at Phil’s Steak House, with prime cuts of beef with add-on options like foie gras, seared scallops, king crab and blue cheese, along with classic Italian dishes. For sports and elevated bar food, Golden Circle Sportsbook & Bar never disappoints—don’t miss the Bases Loaded Nachos, Philly cheesesteak, Angry Croque Monsieur and fish tacos. Seafood lovers can find satisfaction at the new Las Vegas Yacht Club, with its bounty of market-fresh catches; and for some of the best barbecue on the Strip, cooked and smoked in house, stop by Gilley’s. Gilley’s is also a longtime favorite of both tourists and locals for its nightlife—it’s a country-western bar and restaurant that offers good eats, live music, a spacious dance floor for line dancing, a mechanical bull, the famous Gilley’s Girls and delicious cocktails. Nightlife continues over at the Stripside Señor Frog’s. Latin music nights are all the rage here, and the venue constantly offers fabulous drink specials. Speaking of fabulous, don’t miss the venue’s popular Drag Brunch, Thursday through Sunday, featuring some of the best queens in Las Vegas (Many have appeared on RuPaul’s Drag Race). And it’s always a hot spot for surprise drag queen guests—you never know who might take the stage!

For his next trick, David Copperfield plans to make the moon disappear By Matt Kelemen

David Copperfield has made a career of sawing people into pieces, defying death through escapes and dematerializing large objects. He’s made a Learjet disappear, rendered the Statue of Liberty invisible and caused a 45-ton Orient Express train car to vanish. Copperfield would like to make poverty, hunger and danger vanish for the sake of the world’s

34 | 11.19.23 Las Vegas Magazine

children, but for now he’ll settle for the moon. It usually takes Copperfield and his team two years to develop an illusion. Causing a manmade lunar eclipse has been nearly three decades in the making. In a 1997 interview with USA Today, he identified three ultimate illusions he wanted to perform: straightening the Leaning Tower of Pisa; putting a woman’s

5+. 702.891.1111

face—think former flame supermodel Claudia Schiffer—on Mount Rushmore; and making the moon disappear. Pisa tourism officials might have had a problem with the first option and his relationship with Schiffer came to an end, but the moon continues to orbit around Earth. While details of how Copperfield intends to pull off a celestial body illusion are scarce. the moon will be full Feb. 24, the date of the Lantern Festival for the Lunar New Year. It’s also the Year of the Dragon, the most revered animal in the Chinese zodiac known for power, positivity and the ability to pull off creative ideas. Copperfield’s own

birth date places him in the realm of the clever, mischievous Monkey. An interest in ventriloquism led young David Kotkin to magic, which helped him develop confidence. He adopted a stage moniker drawn from Dickens by the time he was a marquee name on the Chicago theater circuit, which led to network TV specials and mainstream fame. Copperfield was merely the most famous illusionist in the world by 1983, when he made a Learjet disappear from the stage of the MGM Grand. From there, his illusions became grand events the whole world watched. In April of that year, 20 witnesses assembled on Liberty Island to see his

biggest trick yet: A curtain high enough to block the audience’s view of Lady Liberty was raised, then lowered to reveal spotlights beaming through the space where the statue formerly stood. He made her appear again, of course, but from then on, Copperfield’s next illusions had to top previous ones, whether he was walking through the Great Wall of China or making a train car disappear. As rising stars David Blaine and Criss Angel began making their marks on TV, Copperfield settled for being the biggest headliner on the Strip, curating his International Museum and Library of the Conjuring Arts and developing his 11-island chain in the Bahamas. The only string left untied is that moon illusion. He needed a good reason to revisit the idea and the right collaborator for inspiration. Copperfield found both in Save the Children. As more details come to light, he’ll be directing attention toward the 100-yearold organization and creating opportunities for proceeds that raise the quality of life for children in crisis. His compassion is no illusion.

Dominique Ansel Las Vegas features iconic confections straight from the mind of the chef Chef Dominique Ansel doesn’t dream about pastry, but that’s because he requires little sleep. The French-born master of flaky cakes and creamy confections thinks about his work constantly. It’s more productive preoccupation than obsession, a dedication to craft that is all-consuming and part of Ansel’s destiny. How could he not optimize the ingredients of ability, vision and opportunity presented to him by the machinations of fate? Ansel is, of course, the creator of the Cronut. The hybrid of croissant and donut debuted in New York City a decade ago. One bite of the November edition at his Caesars Palace shop, Dominique Ansel Las Vegas, validates all heraldry, its creamy filling of tiramisu and espresso ganaches generating palate pleasure on a scale that makes previous dessert experiences also-rans at best.

Dominique Ansel Bakery, where the Cronut was conceived, opened 12 years ago this year. The iconic invention came to be after Ansel’s girlfriend, now his wife and business partner, asked him to create a donut for Mother’s Day. “I’m French. I had no recipe for donuts,” says Ansel, who only had four employees at the time. “She insisted enough that I ended up doing something. Or course I grew up eating croissants. I loved the idea of having the layer of croissant in a donut shape, and I worked on something that didn’t work well in the beginning, but I knew was a good idea.” A lot of New Yorkers thought it was a good idea, too. It took time and many revisions for Ansel to be satisfied, but the Cronut went viral quickly after its debut. Customers came in droves. “We made 35 the first day, next day we made 45,” recalls Ansel. By the third day, some 150 people lined up before the bakery opened. “It was stressful. Worrisome. People were not happy. People were complaining, but it’s New York.” There are more than enough Cronuts to make customers happy at Dominique Ansel Las Vegas. The dining area and displays are immaculate, save for the flakes of pastry that inevitably fall on the white tables and the floor. Ansel’s popular DKA, a Breton butter cake with caramelized crispy crust, is easy to find

alongside chocolate tacos and pie slices in seasonal flavors of Extra-Silky Pumpkin and Bourbon Pecan. The gooey, ganache-filled Cookie Ice Cream Sandwich and Banana Split are more multilayer experiences than dessert, while Cookie Shots capable of holding Bailey’s Irish Cream are served with precision by a robot at the entrance of the shop. Precision guides Ansel’s hand and gives him the discipline to accomplish, but it’s the reaction to his results that inspire him. “Food has the power to bring you back to a moment in time. It connects you with emotions, with people,” he says, recalling a frozen s’mores item, fashioned for a summer menu, that was torched in front of customers before being served. “You hand it to them, and they bite into it and see marshmallow, and they smile. They’re like kids again.”

he holidays can be stressful for those tasked with the duty of meal preparation—especially Thanksgiving. This year, take off the apron and let the city of Las Vegas serve you up a holiday meal you’ll never forget. (It is highly recommended that you make reservations!) Head downtown to the Plaza, where Oscar’s Steakhouse offers a threecourse feast. Get butternut squash soup with Burgundy truffle to start, a traditional turkey entrée as your main, and your choice of maple pumpkin pie or pecan pie with vanilla Chantilly. Hofbräuhaus Las Vegas helps you celebrate the holidays with a Bavarian-themed flair. Start with butternut squash cream soup garnished with croutons and chives and breaded Brie cheese fried golden brown and served with a winter salad bouquet, garnished with

fried parsley and cranberries. From there, you can enjoy roast turkey served with thyme-infused turkey gravy, cranberry sauce, mashed potatoes, stuffing, corn medley and glazed yams, and end with pumpkin cranberry bread pudding. On the Strip, STK Steakhouse at The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas features a great Thanksgiving spread from Nov. 23-26 (dine-in only), which includes a roasted free range turkey dinner with confit turkey thighs, foie gras stuffing, cranberry, maple-baked sweet potatoes, sweet corn pudding, Brussels sprouts and spiced pumpkin pie.
