It’s About Time!
A long-awaited fight between undefeated titans is finally here, and fans are in for a serious treat
What a way to start 2025! One of boxing’s most exciting fighters of the moment, undefeated interim WBC light heavyweight champion David “El Monstro” Benavidez (29-0, 24 KOs), takes on WBA light heavyweight champion David Morrell Jr. (11-0, 9 KOs) in an event that is sure to have fight fans buzzing all year long.
It’s been a long wait for this particular fight, but fans will finally get to see how these two titans square up. While Morrell has incredible power, Benavidez has speed and endurance to spare. And while Benavidez is the more experienced professional fighter, having had 18 more fights, other tales of the tape hint at how close this matchup might be:
Benavidez has an 83% knockout percentage; Morrell’s is 82%;
While Benavidez has an 1-inch height advantage over Morrell, Morell has a 2-inch reach advantage;
The fighters are only separated in age by two years; Benavidez is 28, Morrell is 26;
Benavidez fights out of the orthodox stance, while David Morrell is a southpaw;
Benavidez is ranked No. 2 by The Ring at lightheavyweight, while Morrell is ranked No. 28 in the 175-pound division.
The undercards for this fight promise plenty of action, highlighted by the long-awaited rematch between WBC featherweight world champion Brandon “The Heartbreaker” Figueroa defending his title against former unified world champion Stephen Fulton Jr. (The last time they fought was 2021.) Mexican fighters Isaac “Pitbull” Cruz, a former world champion, faces off against contender Angel Fierro in a super lightweight duel. And Mexican star Jesus “Mono” Ramos Jr. will fight former unified champion Jeison Rosario in a 10-round middleweight bout.
The buildup to the Feb. 1 bout between Benavidez and Morrell has been marked by plenty of trash talk, with Morrell mocking what he feels is Benavidez’s robotic movement (calling him “RoboCop”), and Benavidez appearing to take it extremely personally, promising plenty of physical punishment for his opponent. And a Miami press conference reached a fever pitch between the two men. To say both men seem laser-focused on the task at hand is understating the case considerably. Are you ready? –Ken Miller

Find great bites and close parking for your next stadium event
Whether you’ve got tickets to an upcoming Raiders game or an upcoming event at Allegiant Stadium, there’s now an alternative to parking directly at the venue—WSKY Stadium , a restaurant and bar about as close as you can get to the stadium without actually being there, and one with ample parking, meaning you can enjoy an Allegiant Stadium event with easy ingress and egress. And best of all, you’ll enjoy a fun dining experience with great beers and cocktails.
Start your experience here by parking in one of the 638 spots available (free on nonevent days). From there, it’s easy access to WSKY Stadium, where you’ll get striking views of the stadium while enjoying craft and draft beers, not to mention cocktails like the Frey Fog, a unique sipper featuring locally produced Frey Ranch bourbon, honey syrup and bitters, all finished with a fog of smoke.
Menu highlights include the Italian Grinder, a beast of a sandwich piled
high with salami, ham, spicy capicola, provolone and more on French bread, the Are You In Or Are You Out sliders, two double-patty mini burgers with American cheese and all the fixings (plus “secret sauce”), and the fish and chips, featuring beer-battered white fish served with fries, coleslaw, onion hush puppies (yum!), dill and caper aioli. –Ken Miller

Hear this iconic songstress’s impressive tones when she returns to her Vegas residency
She needs no introduction, really. She’s one of the most successful recording artists of all time. She’s the “Queen of Christmas.” She’s the diva supreme that everyone knows and loves. Of course, I’m talking about Mariah Carey, who’s back in town for another set of dates for her The Celebration of Mimi residency.
Come ready for a night full of whistle tones, iconic bops and skilled dancers at this show as the music icon celebrates the anniversary of her smash hit 2005 album, The Emancipation of Mimi, which brought you songs like “We Belong Together” and “Fly Like a Bird.”
The songstress has put together a super fan experience at Dolby Live with modern, sleek set pieces, skilled backup vocalists and instrumentalists, and personal touches like video components that share a bit about the singer’s road to success. Often pausing to share anecdotes and exchange kind words with the crowd, Carey’s gratitude for her fans truly shines through.
In a particularly striking moment, the chanteuse lounges on a pink chaise in front of a waterfall of pink drapery to sing a few songs while a single dancer personifies the emotions in Carey’s music through just his movements. It’s a beautiful moment to have the privilege to savor. –Em Jurbala

Find the ideal spot for brunch with the besties or a romantic evening with your sweetie at Chéri Rooftop. The recently redesigned restaurant at Paris Las Vegas, with décor inspired by midcentury Parisian gardens, sits underneath the
property’s Ei el Tower with Bellagio fountains views.
The open-air design of the restaurant is pleasant any time of year in Las Vegas, be it day or night. If day is your desire, enjoy Chéri’s brunch from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Friday
through Monday. Dig into shareable dishes like the grilled blueberry bread topped with a sweet cream cheese butter, blueberry syrup, fresh berries and mint, or freshly shucked oysters chilled on the half shell or served Rockefeller style.
CEO and executive chef Anthony Carron has some recs. “For brunch, I would highly recommend starting with the escargot, served with garlic herb butter and a toasted baguette,” he says. “Our selection
of omelets really stand out, with options ranging from blue crab with avocado, Gruyère and Hollandaise to our linguiça sausage option with caramelized onions, piquillo peppers and Comté cheese. If you’re in the mood for something sweet, the crème brûlée French toast with fresh berries and Chantilly cream is a delight.”
Might we also suggest ordering the smoked salmon and bagel, a brunch staple? Chéri’s presentation is exceedingly photoworthy, with the presentation of a tiered tower laden with heirloom tomato, cucumber, capers, red onion, boiled egg and cream cheese. In addition, to share, order up the burrata and prosciutto, served with fresh
fruit and drizzled with Moroccan extra virgin olive oil and aged balsamic, or a twist on the classic avocado toast—this hearty version is served on a croissant.
When the sun sets, Chéri switches to dinner at 6 p.m. Thursday through Sunday. With twinkling lights turned on along with candlelight and views of the glowing Strip, the restaurant turns romantic, creating a memorable dining experience.
Dinner continues the theme, with approachable twists and bold flavors added to each dish. “For dinner, main courses really take on the traditional French inspiration,” Carron says. “Particularly, I enjoy the duck au poivre, with watercress, potato pavé and topped with green peppercorn sauce, and to share, the wild mushroom cigars and osetra caviar cones.”
Sea scallops are served up gratinée-style with vermouth cream and sorrel and mushroom duxelles; steak frites is a French classic served with duck fat fries, maître d’ butter and watercress; and the Alaskan halibut comes with brown butter, capers, cauliflower, golden raisins, lemon and haricot verts.
Don’t skip cocktails or dessert, either. Go all-you-can-drink mimosas at brunch for $35. Master mixologists have whipped up an impressive specialty cocktails menu. Don’t sleep on the margarita twist, Margarita’s Trip to Paris, and the classic sour twist, the Ei el Sour. The French Kiss is a conversational sip, because you’ll be talking about how good the mix is of Rémy Martin, Disarrono, lemon juice, agave and a cinnamon-sugar rim. Desserts stay classic with choices like Valrhona chocolate sou é, profiteroles and vanilla crème brûlée.

WHEN DESCRIBING WHAT MAKES LAS VEGAS
GREAT, ONE INEVITABLY HAS TO talk about a bit of everything: Shows, attractions, restaurants, nightclubs, individual properties … the list just goes on and on. It’s in that spirit that we present Las Vegas Magazine ’s 2025 Hall of Fame class.
By Las Vegas Magazine Staff
On the following pages, you’ll get the pleasure of discovering some of what makes Las Vegas (and its surrounding areas) great, exclusively chosen by our growing list of past Hall of Fame honorees, including Jabbawockeez, Carrot Top, Wayne Newton, Blue Man Group, The Las Vegas Aces and Penn & Teller.
The goal of our Hall of Fame is simple: We want to provide you with a list you can check off here and now (or make reservations for on your return trip); after all, we are the premier tourist publication in the Las Vegas Valley—our goal is to help you make the most out of your stay.
Here’s to the class of 2025!
THE GREAT OUTDOORS
There are more than 30 trailheads accessible from this destination, which is merely a 30-minute drive from downtown Las Vegas. Hikers, rock climbers and bikers flock here like blackjack players do to casinos, and there’s a good chance of spotting wildlife like bighorn sheep.

DINING
Stepping inside this longtime favorite leaves the modern world behind in favor of a ’70s-style atmosphere. As long as this Vegas institution, included in scenes from movies like Showgirls and Casino, keeps serving casual dining fare from its neon-lit location where mid-Strip meets north Strip, classic Las Vegas will live on.
FESTIVALS
This 31-acre realm at Sunset Park, which recently celebrated its 30th anniversary, is total immersion in the lifestyles of knights, ladies of the court and other assorted townsfolk who play antique instruments, sell wares and make sure roasted turkey legs are in abundance over three days.

BARS & NIGHTLIFE
Some people just want to have fun and dance, which is a good reason to keep this intimate space in mind. Open to anyone who can find the hidden entrance behind a record-store facade, this hot spot, featuring top-shelf champagnes, wines, vodkas, bourbons and more, is part speakeasy, part nightclub, all fun.
The Drai name has long been synonymous with after-hours on the Strip. Now Drai’s Management Group also runs this go-to destination. In addition to talent from the worlds of hip-hop and EDM, this venue also features amazing views, sumptuous cabanas and lavish pools.

HEADLINERS
It’s been nearly 13 years since Carlos Santana made the House of Blues on the Strip into a musical home where guests could make regular pilgrimages as he sculpted his set into a sonic biography. Through performances of hits like “Evil Ways” and “Jingo,” his concerts transport fans to a timeless era of peace, love and music.
ATTRACTIONS
Thanks to this premier luxury brand, visitors can devote half the morning to hitting the Grand Canyon, ticking off a bucket list item while earning bragging rights to having descended a mile into the world wonder without a pack mule. The company’s 10-to-12-minute flights around the Strip are equally popular and a quintessential Vegas experience.

AROUND THE VALLEY
This must-see attraction just north of downtown houses more than 250 iconic signs, including Stardust, Riviera, Tropicana and El Cortez, and it’s moving soon to the Arts District, where there will be more room to illuminate the history of Las Vegas through its electric-powered iconography.
SPORTS
The latest Triple-A baseball affiliate in Las Vegas (of the Athletics) are a good team, with five players being named to the 2024 All-Stars, including shortstop Nick Allen, second baseman Jordan Diaz and outfielder Colby Thomas. The team drew nearly a halfmillion spectators to its Las Vegas Ballpark in Downtown Summerlin, and those numbers will likely only grow.

SHOWS & PRODUCTIONS
“Wild West” takes on a whole new meaning at this risqué production. On the intimate stage featuring a bi-level design and short runway, emcee Boozy Skunkton introduces acts ranging from acrobats demonstrating superhuman strength on minimalist apparatuses to a nun playing ping-pong without a paddle.
A Letter from the Lifetime Achievement Award
Sponsor:
It’s been said that success isn’t always about greatness, it’s about consistency, and that consistent hard work leads to success. There are few people that could demonstrate true greatness like Barry Manilow has over the course of his career. From countless chart-topping singles to platinum and multiplatinum albums, he is one of the world’s bestselling artists for a reason, and his music has and will continue to transcend generations. At Aristocrat Gaming, it is our great privilege to join Las Vegas Magazine in honoring Barry’s legacy of achievement and the distinction he has brought to the music and entertainment industries.
We strive to create an environment where unique talent is unleashed through collective brilliance. To accomplish this, we focus on recruiting, retaining and developing diverse talent with a range of backgrounds, skills and capabilities in every country in which we operate. Furthermore, we serve as a rare opportunity for artists to thrive through their contributions to our games including but not limited to art and design, music and more.
These one-of-a-kind career opportunities create pathways for brilliant individuals to exercise their artistic capabilities. If it weren’t for artists like Barry, who not only have created music that has touched countless lives, but produced and arranged his own albums, there would be that much less passion in the world for the arts. We are honored to recognize Barry Manilow: singer, songwriter, producer, visionary, game-changer. From all of us at Aristocrat Gaming, congratulations.

Singer/songwriter and the star attraction at Westgate Las Vegas
The word “lifetime” feels entirely appropriate when referring to Barry Manilow’s historic career. He’s spent a lifetime bringing joy to millions of fans who just can’t get enough of his long list of enduring songs. In his lifetime, he’s achieved nearly every major milestone a performer can achieve (including 29 platinum-certified albums, a Grammy, a Primetime Emmy and an Oscar nomination), culminating in him breaking Elvis Presley’s longstanding record of 636 performances at Westgate Las Vegas’s iconic International Theater. And just recently, Westgate Las Vegas announced that it was extending Manilow a lifetime residency.
But despite all this, when you see Manilow perform, it feels like he’s just getting started. Even at 81, his energy is infectious, and he can get a crowd on its feet every time he sustains a long note in songs like “Looks Like We Made It,” “I Made It Through the Rain,” “I Write the Songs” and “Weekend in New England.” He also happens to have one of the best live bands in town, as well as backup singers who never miss a beat.
As an added bonus, Manilow always performs a series of Christmas shows ( A Very Barry Christmas, naturally). In addition to a festive holiday atmosphere, complete with “snow” and unique renditions of “Jingle Bells” and “All I Want for Christmas Is You,” Manilow makes sure to include local schoolchildren in each production, joining him
onstage at each show’s culmination to get their time in the spotlight.
His special relationship with Las Vegas has helped to redefine what is possible with a residency, and our city owes him a debt it can never repay. To Mr. Manilow, a hearty congratulations on a life well lived.
